Yes please. Recall to cancel an attack made in error.

somebody love it somebody hate it could be great to create strategy (I send and attack to your city and then recall it) at the same time it could be very annoying for who's defending,
        let's see what people think

Oh right! I see what you mean.

In that case it could be something you can buy or get from Merlin like Dragon's Stomp. That way you'll only ever have one or two of them and you can use that to stop an attack you made in error.

Other games I have played have had the ability to recall (namely Evony). As you said it was massively annoying because people would recall just moments before they hit. Sometimes it was used as a strategy to weaken other alliance members. ie Wait for them to reinforce the target then just before you hit you would recall and hit the other alliance members whos troops were out reinforcing. Mostly however it was used just to bug people LOL

Another game I played had a mid point which might be an alternative worth thinking about. You could recall but only for a short time after you initially sent. From memory I think it was 10 minutes but march times in that game were HUGE. Like 24hrs march was not unusual. Given march times in this game are way shorter then maybe a minute would be appropriate time to allow for a recall. Or perhaps a percentage like 10%. The march bar can show one colour whilst recall is possible (say green) and then change to another colour when recall window has elapsed (say red).

I like Abirs idea as well. Perhaps a combination of the two. If recall window has elapsed then a gem item can be bought to override and allow the recall.

Whilst on ideas LOL One of the issues is when a war ends there are attacks still marching. There is often finger pointing when that happens. So perhaps allow recall between friendly alliances but not hostile. All sorts of options depending on how complex you want to get

              Recall from march

Absolutely make this an option. Often there are still troops marching once a ceasefire as been negotiated.

I would say this would be a good thing to do only if there is a penalty for the troops that were recalled something on the lines of maybe troops are idle for 3/4 the aloted time it would of taken the unit to attack or 15 min which ever the longest so it is not abused.

                  thanks for your feedback,
I'll forward them to the Game Team and we will brain storm about it. Please continue to share your thoughts in this thread, I'll keep a close eye on it

Like the idea of alliance status factoring into this idea. Tho in reality, feints are used in war...

                    • #11
Many times I have sent marches in error and wanted to stop it this would be great idea

                      • #12
I understand both points of view... it could be used to annoy people, and it could also be used to feint and wreck havock on someone. HOWEVER, there are people that use the ability to attack wilds to be a nuisance and yet it is implemented. People that flip wilds are super annoying, and they gain nothing other than the satisfaction of knowing that other person is having to re-gain that island. Also, if used for the feint, this is a part of war. This is a war game and strategy plays an important role in this, also, how would the person attacking know when another person moved troops to reinforce and who it was to attack them??? Attackers do not get instant updates on what their targets are doing. Third point. if attacking and then recalll troops ( say they get an alert that someone is attacking their city ) would it not take the same amount of time to get back to the city as it did to get to the point they were when they recalled? recall should not be instantaneous, but take time just like marching. Fourth point. Sometimes it is so annoying when you are trying to transport goods or reassign troops between cities, and before you get all of the resources set that you want to transport you accidentally hit the transport button. YOu then have to wait for them to get back and then resend the troops ( or assign them back and then re-assign them back ) . VERY annoying. As much as it can be said " pay attention to what you are doing and this won't happen" accidents DO happen, and probably everyone has had it happen to them. Could be as simple as having the wrong coords put in and attacking someone different then you intended.

I like the idea maybe make it 25% of total march time. Say a total march of 4 mins can be recalled the first minute after that it is set.

                          • #14
the ability to open and close gates should also go with recalling troos. the advantage right now is to defend. i have watched so many racist and deragotory remarks qhen someone pulls down def or opens gates and laughds. Make it fair. No reason I can't march, speed up a scout before the hit and decide if it s a good idea. you haven't come up with one reason to deny that latitude. Please consider this idea. it levels the playing ground for new players as well

Allow recall in limited circumstances, and display a confirmation of the attack

                              Here are some ideas:

                              1) Display the TIME that it will take to march. I keep accidentally sending my troops on death marches to accidental destinations.
1b) When entering coordinates, always confirm the destination (i.e. "Level 9000 Goblin Camp), and the time of the march (i.e. 3 days 15 seconds).
1c) Note that the above is most beneficial to beginners who cannot defeat level 9000 goblins and who have slow-moving troops

                              2) Allow recall of troops being sent to Neutral territories

                              3) All recall of attacking troops with permission of the other person

                              4) If the other person is not available to approve the recall, automatically approve the recall

                              I can see problems with 3 and 4, especially 4, but I don't see any issues with 1, 2, and 3
