  • Change the way we fight

Many of us can agree, wars are boring, everyone hides their troops and resources, a few people flip wilds, we knockdown anyone foolish enough to build wall might, and the war is over. Let's fix it!

    1. Limit hidden troops to 20000, this helps the new players, and forces the veterans to fight for position. More fun for us, more losses means dedicated players will buy more gems to rebuild.

    2. Wilds must be held by a minimum number of troops, or they are lost (1000 for a level 1 and so on).

    3. Defensive works can be built on wilds (think roman legion camp). Now there will be actual battles outside of the cities, and a modicum of strategy must be used.

    4. Wall units-do not change the might, but change the star rating, make them more powerful to simulate the true power of defending a wall - a small defensive force should have a significant advantage, not the other way around.

Let me know what you think.

    1. 20k troops is an insignificant amount. Forcing people to defend when they have more than 20k troops means the veteran players are going to tear the newbies apart. No one will get a chance to build up a decent army. 20k troops is about 2 hours training time for me. As a veteran player this rule will allow me to run rampant on my world. Almost every small alliance would be crushed within hours. This will drive every casual player out of the game. I agree something needs to be done about the constant hiding. I just don't think forcing people to defend 24/7 is the way to go.

PS: Before people start on me be aware that I ALWAYS defend. So I'm not some might hugger trying to protect myself.

    2. So to defend all my wilds I have to use every single slot in my rally point? Meaning I cannot fight or scout? I agree wilds need a way of being defended. I don't think this is the answer though. Now if troops could be reassigned so that rally point slots were not used then that would be fine. That is a significant coding change for Kabam though (I'm an app developer). So if wilds could be defended without tying up my rally point then I'm all for it.

    3. That sounds cool. Anything to make wilds better is a good thing I would love to see them almost as little outposts. Being able to garrison troops, having their own knight, building simple defences etc. It's a lot of work for Kabam but would be really cool.

    4. The might values are all wrong and not just for wall defences. For instance tier 1 troops are twice as strong as their might implies. I'm not fussed if might goes up, down or sideways as long as actual strength and might actually mean the same thing. Might at the moment is irrelevant. Wall defences are much stronger than people think. They just don't use them properly.

Defensive forces do have the advantage in this game. Again most people don't understand the battle mechanic. An attacker can only ever send 100k troops at a time. A defender can have a theoretically infinite number of troops in their city. Up to 1 million just from reinforcements alone. Defending with less than 100k troops though is suicide. The winner on any battle gains a significant troop loss modifier of anything up to around 50%. Meaning they lose up to less than half the troops they should of. A well defended city takes double the might to drop. My city is defended with 20mil might worth of troops and no wall. It would take around 40mil might to drop me to zero even if the attacker had the same research and knight as I did. That's due to the winner of any battle receiving a troop loss modifier. The more you outnumber your opponent the bigger the modifier. So anyone defending with less than the actual strength of 100k tier 3 troops (with maxed research and knight) is doomed to die a quick and horrible death. So that means at least 100k tier 3 or 400k tier 1 assuming you have maxed research and a level 200+ knight. Anything less than that and you will get wiped in one hit.

If they brought back desertion then you would have to defend your cities to protect your food supply. But in order to do this Kabam would need to change out pict camps work. We would need to be able to attack a pict camp with no losses.

I'd agree with troop desertion if we had no loss farming like you said. Kabam have made their stance clear on both counts though. Don't expect to ever see troop desertion again or to ever see no loss pict camp farming. Never say never though
