  • Great ideas to discourage hugging and encourage defending and attacking

Something has to been done to prevent others from never unhiding or attacking, and the current set up there is no reason for them to unhide or send large attacks and this creates huggers and any alliance can never unhide and never send large attacks and hug to the top and nobody can do anything to stop them, so this encourages others to do the same just to keep up there rankings. If kabaam would just give gold a high value where it was a resource you must have to suceed in this game then people would defend themselves to protect it, and others would attack to take it. Give it a value where you can trade it for troops or for knocking time off your training ques. There is so many things that could be done to fix the hugging issue but kabaam never changes anything to encourage people to defend or fight. How about giving wilds a high value and make it where you can control more than 10 per city. If wilds had a high value like maybe it could determine the total amount of troops you can have so that way we would need to fight to control land and the more you can control the stronger you can be. If you would make this a sticky this thread would explode with ideas to fix this issue of hugging to no end. That is the biggest downfall to this game and it is why it gets boring after you build up and have nothing left to do other than hope an alliance will fight you instead of hiding and never attacking back.

I actually like the idea of hugging. (Ok... here comes the nerd rage, I can tell already)
Some people like to build the cities.
Some people like to battle one another a few times a day to no end.
Some people like to build the might tower. (Like myself).
Play with the ones that are in your play style, and leave the rest of them alone. Why force someone to play "your way"?

All I'm saying is there are different ways to play this game, according to what people like.
      Accept it.

I am not saying you cant play your way, I am the chancy of the top ranked alliance in my world and we are called huggers all the time. There still needs to be a change made so that not defending yourself has more consequences other games you lose your entire cities, so adding a higher value to gold would make one want to protect more right now gold is worthless we have 2 billion stored and if somebody takes it who cares it is worthless to us. We choose to save our might for wars so we are considered huggers because we do not chase walls all day while farming and because of this our kill ranking is not that high. I am not trying to tell anybody how to play, but something needs to change in this game to bring more excitement to it. You here the same complaints everyday about how it gets boring because people do not defend or attack, and why should they defend if you cannot hurt them in anyway by simply hiding, but if they will lose something of high value then they would have a reason to fight and protect there gold or whatever. It could be land that they need to protect because if they loss it then it has major consequences. I have simply started this post to try and get new fresh ideas for this game. Kabaam wants to hear from us and will make changes if we ask for them, but most only come here to complain about things instead of trying to get them fixed.

I think the best way to encourage people to fight would be to make alliance rank not only dependent on total might of the members but make the ranking reflect the activity of the alliance by somehow incorporating the troops killed ranking into the alliance ranking. This would mean hugging couldn't get you top rank. I know alliances with completely inactive players who just build a lot of troops then quit. How does that signify a top rank? If alliance ranking needed higher kill rankings we would see much more activity in the game.

There are lot of option to huggers. 1. Once you go hostile you can no longer hide troops from that alliance only. ( do not know the programming issues with that. ) and you can not drop from an alliance that is at war. 2. If you breach someone's walls you take there idle population. They will have to defend if they want to keep building. 3. If you breach walls maybe drop there walls down. Force them to rebuild. But you have to make walls worth something, right now wall might is a joke. Anyway you are so right, just like wild steelers. There is no recourse, you cannot hurt them.

That wouldn't work. If I were the leader of an alliance that you set to hostile, I wouldn't set you hostile in return. Then my alliance could attack you at will, kill all your troops, and still have our troops hidden. Brilliant! Then nobody would use the "Hostile" option.

You are just a very vocal minority. If Kabam wanted to encourage all out war then they would just increase drops from players and allow you to steal their items. Problem solved. Nobody wants their items stolen even if they don't use most of them.

I do like the idea of taking idle pop away and walls are very strong now if you know how to do it. We build walls and they have a 1 for 1 ratio troop lose. Maybe if the attacker lost the battle it could affect there idle pop as well. Once we get more ideas I can create a bigger poll with more ideas and we all vote and see what kabaam thinks. Riccardo will pass the ideas to the engineering team.

If you're concerned about rankings then inactive players should automatically get their might dropped to zero after three months of inactivity. Of course it could be reinstated once they log back in but that would shift a lot of might around to a more even state and make the game more active.

They would loss might if they are not active to protect there land which could determine your population limit. Thats is pop determined your total number of troops you can have.

Make it so gold can be turned into gems, people are going to want to defend that then.

The best scenario discussed so far is the "window of opportunity"

Which is every time a knight is out, you are automaticly unhided.

Which give you an opportunity to strike if :

                          1.you are under attack
2.another player is farming other player
3.another player is attacking your wild (wild stealer get finally exposed)
4.even transfering ressources to another player or city.

Let's say each time i knight go out, you have to open the gates......

Wouldn't that in a sense discourage attacking? I feel like there needs to be something valueable to protect which would also mean it would make you want to fight for more of it also.

                              1. Idle Population disappears if you choose to hide troops and an attack breaches walls.
                              2. The amount of Wilds you hold sets the limit of how many resources you can hold; i.e. lvl 1 Woods you can hold 500k wood, lvl 10 Woods you can hold 5mil. (limits to wilds would be disbanded and control of wilds would become a real factor.)
                              3. 10mil gold=1 merlin token.

People still have option to hug because they can have storehouse set to max in one city, hold no troops there, and stay open.
