  • New up date people's thoughts

I have just read the news on the new update and wondered what people's thoughts are here are a few of mine, is this an improvement for combat or will it make it worse? people can set their exposure to attacks but it will end zeroing/doughnuting people as many will now never truley open up fully. with that in mind what was the point In realeasing the arcane archers and assassins these will now be usless troops as their intended targets will always be hidden. As we all know t4,5 and 6 troops are awful for anything but might comps as they are very over valued compared to their attack strength even more since last years might value change with no change to attack or defence ratings, so these troops will now always be hidden. What does everyone else think and feel about these changes?

Honestly I think that it will make more people open. The more people
Who have troops out the better I think they did tons of improvements on this update. It deff made the game better in my eyes. Defencive leaderboards look cool to.

I'm not sure it will have more people open. It's not a 150k T5 wave that keeps people closed. It's the 900% knight that's behind it with lvl 100 hero. Until they bring back balance to this game, fighting will never be the same. And no way do I see Kabam leveling the field. But, people that pay money deserve the best. I see it both ways.

Also, based on the pics shown http://community.kabam.com/forums/sh...Notes-(Aug-25) it shows what troops are defending/open on the scout report. But scouts don't always come through for some.

I think its a start to where players who didn't open for fear of being zeroed can open the troops they are willing to lose. That being said they did add quite a few things in this update that I think will help the game. This update was deff for bettering game play over developing a money grab. Making the hospitals mkre ffective was nice of the, to

I think this will be just another update that more players will stop playing. I am curious about the hospital healing time. I was in the process of destroying my hospitals because barracks train faster than hospitals heal. I will see next week if I should destroy barracks and make more hospitals.

As far as opening- for a year players in forums have been telling Kabam moderators why we have stopped opening. Instead of fixing the problem new ideas made it worse. New gear with players with 900% attack or more and not everyone is able to get the best gear. no one is open and no one will open. We have to evolve with the game make troops chat with your friends. no longer a war game - its more a attack in actives for resources train troops and enjoy the company of your friends.

One more step to make this a true chat room. No crystal being offered or anything build wise, just hammers and troops. Getting old.

I would like to see them add more reining capability. Maybe do it so you can have infinite armies camped at your base instead of just 10.

I actually think it will encourage players to open more. Massive attacking % can't be changed cause to counter all these you would need to win the latest defensive gears which is quite difficult for non gemmers. So how do you limit the damage? By opening your city in small amounts. For example, if there's a TK comp going on, you can just open 5-10mm (if you don't have much) and don't have to be constantly watch for incoming. However you look at it, this feature has more positives than negatives.

I agree the knights I think could be more balanced or I think the % on them should not go any higher then it is until players catch up but, even a new campaign chapter i mean they are making a effort to allow non gemmers to open with out losing massive amount of troops for me i hover around a billion might and I am always open so I am always losing troops I will always have my full army out but for those who don't want to lose there whole army they can put the troops they are willing to lose out. As well I think giving a leader board to those defending is a great idea as well.

I agree with both of you, will encourage moree fighting, and personally I think this update looks really good with a new campaign chapter, also the leaderboards for events being in real time will be great too and hospitals effectiveness too

Will the new update give us more hammers and dust? Will the new update give all the players a chance to get the best gear? in the world I play in there are a bout 7 elite players that have the best gear activated and when they hit you the kill ratio in their favor is 15 to 1. I won't open - i will just go to m AC and chat with my friends. I use to be open 24/7 when everyone had the chance to have 212 knights and 215 knights with no gear. Game was fair and fun. Now its just enjoy chatting with friends and train troops.

Well if you talk about other features that the updates will bring then no one knows. Getting the best gears depends on yourself and how you aim to win them. I don't gem and I have plenty of sacred gears, some season 1 and a few season 2. If you spend money on a game, of course you wanna be better than everyone else. In every game there's bound to be people who are willing to spend money to differentiate themselves from the rest. The trick is picking your battles. I mean who wants to open for an elite player who will take a 15 : 1 ratio against you? But what about the rest of the players? I'm pretty sure there are also players who have weaker knights who will give you a better ratio or might even be in your favour. The point of this feature is, it provides you with a safety net of not being zeroed or hit hard by crazy knights.

                            MAIN FEATURES:

                            1) Selective Defense: You are now able to assign a section of your Troops to defend your City and climb to the top of City Siege Rank!

I doubt very much that this will benefit the older servers, but it looks like it could be great for the newer ones. However, until we see it in game play it's hard to say what impact it will have.

The one thing it definitely wont do is restore the balance between players in any given server. The last part of Misty Mountain's post sums it up nicely.

                            2) New Campaign Chapter: Great new Heroes will be available soon!

Oh god no, KOCBFTN's very own app within an app gets another level of tedium..........but don't worry....we can unlock new heroes..Yayyyyyy....I can't wait to start putting gear on these as well.....oh the joy. Does anyone actually enjoy cam-pain mode? or is it just that it spits out free stuff? Personally I hate it!

                            3) Avatar: Pick your favorite Knight’s portrait to be your avatar!

                            I won't sleep tonight

                            4) New Event Season: In-game leaderboard will be available soon. Season winners will be granted Badges of Honor!

Might and TK leader boards are meaningless, so adding another meaningless leader board is not a problem for me.

                            5) UI face-lift to in-game chat with improved clarity.

I was disappointed we lost the Tangerine text on chat...but I think I was the only one

                            IMPROVEMENTS:

                            1) Hospital capacity: Increased one time healing amount/ healing speed for injured troops.

IF the increase in healing time and amount IS reasonably significant...then this is a positive improvement

                            2) Leaderboards for Event Center tournaments now update in real-time.

Fanfare please, given KOCBFTN is now little more that a 24/7 tourney-a-thon this is the biggest improvement of the year. Chalk this up as a Rukkirii success

3,4,5,6) Indicator of Hidden vs. Unhidden Troops on the main screen.
Fade-away screen when players navigate the Castle and Field View Maps!
Mitigated the occurrence of losing Battle Reports.
                            Face-lift to all Troop icons

I'm sure these will all be wonderful.

7)Significantly shorter loading time for all devices

When they say all devices I really do hope they mean ALL....The iphone 3gs is a nightmare.

With player numbers down to little more than a hundred or so in the older servers I see nothing here to get excited about. The only announcement I want is the date for these promised merges!!

Campaign is a great way for players who don't spent to get some items there are some places in chapter 3 that pay out decent troops. Chapter 4 will hopefully give more recent prizes. The allowing players to put out only a few troops helps all cause it will allow players like me who want to open all there troops open them all and players who ony want to open a million troops defemd with a million troops.
