  • 2 Cities / Training / Food

Okay...I have two cities and troops in both. Almost 7m might. I have level 10 wilds, castles, walls, alchemy and research bonus and am confused on just how I am supposed to support my troops. I am running out of food.

I have seen conflicting stories about training troops in one city and housing in other and it will not matter if food goes negative....that my troops won't leave. Is this true?

I mean...how are other players sustaining 20, 30, 50 million might? What am I missing?

    Thanks in advance!!

What the heck is a hugger? I am not so concerned with the number as continuing to play the game. Since I cannot find the answer myself, I have reassigned all troops to one city to see what happens. I still would like to know how those with high level might are sustaining troops.

Is that such a bad question to ask, unregistered guest?

No nastiness necessary, thank you. I m trying to learn and if you have all the answers then please help...otherwise get out.

Hmmm I'm I the same predicament!

Good scenario housing all in the 1 (if they don't leave) I've been re-attacking my food wilds and encamping (up to 90k troops at each)

          Hope this helps )

Why don't you attack and get the food you need. ... This is not a SimCity game your army needs to attack and take the food and other resources you need

How do you know I am not attacking to get the food I need? And your "answer" to my question is completely unrelated.

If you are not answering the question, please don't proide an irrelevant answer.

I have found the answer. Thank you. Bozzie, see private message.

You are mistaken. I suggest it to discuss. Write to me in PM.

I apologise, but, in my opinion, you are not right. I am assured. I can prove it. Write to me in PM, we will communicate.

                    Upkeep

Send the troops to your 2nd city and don't worry about upkeep in that city. Kabam hasn't fixed the issue and it's not exploitation since it's a bug in their scripting they don't seem to want to fix. This game is a battle game. If done properly, instead of hording troops to be a might junkie a person should be going out and attacking cities to supply their troops with food. In turn during the attack, loss of troops which means less food consumed.
WHEN this problem is fixed, the fix to the food problem will be create a food city and take high lvl wilds to get the production up as high as possible. If you look to be getting low, you are required to go pillage wilds, pict camps, or neighboring cities. Since the loss of troops to wilds/camps is unnecessary to get food, I would suggest you farm cities.

Awesome thread this has helped me a bunch.

My question is, for the city that has no food and all the troops, does that mean your food just stays at 0 but your troops still survive?

Also, does your account accumulate all the resources? For example both cities have the same resources in it, or are both cities their own storage?

                      Thanks

You will have 0 food with - (x amount) upkeep. You will need to build the city like the 1st with storage etc. Your troops will not desert (they are supposed to) Whatever you produce in this city is what you get each city is separate. The 2nd only requires no production upkeep (no farms or grassland/lake wilds) The kicker will be if they fix the bug and you fill the city with ore, stone, wood farms...you are in some serious S.O.L. Unless you buy bunches of dragon stomps to destroy and rebuild.

I do not know how your resource fields are laid out but in a perfect world with only one account this is how it would look:

Training City: All lvl 9 farms with lvl 10 wilds, around 10 lvl 9 barracks for fast training and the rest lvl 9 cottages. This would be the major city for training troops. After you train a set of troops simply reassign them to your other city that produces no food. This way you can always accumulate food for training and never have to use it on upkeep.

Garrison City: Assuming you have only one account you would split the resource fields in this city to stone, wood, and ore; no farms for food and split the lvl 10 wilds into 3 each for each of the three resources stone, wood, and ore. When you accumulate a good amount of one or many resource types transport to the other city to start kind of a surplus depot for stone, wood, and ore. You will be able to accumulate millions and millions of resource type this way since there is NO LIMIT to the amount of a resource transferred into a city. The only caveat is for food in your training city it will max out around 15 or 16 mill. In your garrison city you can also build 10 lvl 9 barracks and the rest lvl 9 cottages BUT the only time you be able to train effectively is when your troops are reenforcing someone else BECAUSE if your upkeep is lts say north of 1M by the time you transport food, a significant ammount of it is getting eaten up right away. Now, you can transfer 5M lets say and que up defense units and troops but you can see it starts to be less effective and more time consuming/involved.

Remember cottages only use is to be assigned to work on a project like training troops, once they you use up all your inactive population they will start to refresh and in a while they will all be avaliable to train more troops EVEN while those troops are still training.

For the most part: Train in your food/training city; reassign to another. Collect food and store all ore, stone, and wood there.

I might have missed some stuff but digest that and see if you have any questions or reasons why and mssg me back, thanks.
Ok, here is the real answer: In first city train about 14-15 barracks worth of troops. When you have finished all research knock that down as well and build another barrack. The key here is: having multiple barracks is better than having higher Lvl ones. Don't just use a second city to store troops and resources: Use it! When I want to build say 7500k of tier one in second city, I go to rally point in first and send about 1.2 mil food to second. When food arrives in second immediately queue up a run of troops. If you need more food for building simply send more. If you are regularly farming from other players, getting food should not be a problem. Doing it this way will always keep you building in both cities full time. That is simply how people get might built up quickly. Oh and another thing: tier 1's build faster and accumulate might for you faster. Two guys building troops: One building only tier one the other tier 3. The guy with tier one will build up might about 30% faster but waste more resources on them. Tier 3 uses resources more efficiently but is a lot slower to build and accumulate might with. Those are a few of the "secrets" hope that helps people.

                              confusing

in my opinion it is getting a bit confusing so lets recapitulate

when people just have gotten their second city and their first city is almost leveled to maximum (lvl 9 research, lvl 9 cottages, lvl 9 resources, lvl 9 barracks, ...), what should they do with their second city in order to build a big army AND able to sustain it ?
