Bullsh*t. You've designed the game so it can't be played without paying. Your drop rate on crests is a joke. And even that is time-limited. Merlin Premium is gambling.

The point is kabam wants to farm the small dairy field of ppl with too much money on their hands. In the long run, if they were more ambitious and wanted to expand their player base they would probably make more money with smaller transactions. What they have done is basically settle with the player base they have, and are blantaly exploiting all the ppl that don't even know they are being exploited because they don't understand the value of money and have no objections to paying large amounts on a sub par iPhone game lol. it is some of the most lazy and cop out developing I have ever seen. And before the cows say "well go play another game", people are voicing their concerns because the game COULD be really good, but kabam has ruined it with ****ty development choices. So ppl are disappointed and angry at them. Simple as that.

I paid for the second city. Why? Because I wanted it right away and it was easier to buy than hit the pict camps, and I was lucky enough to be able to afford it. However, I fully agree with everyone that has complained on here. Yes, Kabam charged too much. Each further city will probably be $20, before you know it, you've spent a lot of money on cities, never mind all the other stuff. Yes Kabam have made it too hard to get it free, that encourages people to buy the $20 city. If they didn't no one would have brought it. It's all about money, not what the customer wants. But despite the swearing, some very good points were actually made in this thread. If you put the flaming to one side and think about it rationally, the second city deed should have been $5. To get it free, you should have to get 30 crests. Both are sensible, realistic options. You don't want to lose the might and have to build new troops to replace the ones you lost, then you spend the $5. A lot more people will do this as it's a fair price, quicker and easier. Those that don't want to, take the hit on might, and can't expand their armies as quickly, but the gap between paying and non paying customers is a lot smaller and leads to better game play, as less people become inactive, alliances don't get rid of smaller might players with one city, therefore alliances are similar in size more and more wars occurr. More wars means more buying of items, speed ups etc etc.

The same goes with devine inspiration, speed ups etc. If they were cheaper, more people would buy them. I'm not spending 100 gems to upgrade one building. But if it was 10 gems, then yeah, I'd spend 100 gems upgrading 10 buildings, that's value for money, and Kabam has got more money out of me that way. I doubt Kabam will change their pricing, budgets have no doubt been set according to forecasts from their existing pricing structure. But if they continue not to offer value for money, the game will have a finite lifecycle and another game will come along for us all to enjoy instead, or kabam will drop the game to develop a new came instead. Short term kabam wins and gets rich, those that pay enjoy the game the most. Long term, the game won't be about due to lack of players and development.

Fact is, Kabam is a business, and businesses want your money. Pay $20 for the second city is Kabam's way of doing this. If you don't want to pay, then no city....right now. It's like complaining that an iPad costs too much. That is the price. Don't like it, don't buy it.

Hey, at least Kabam is giving you the chance to earn one for no real money. It will take some work and effort to get the reward but, a little effort is good for everyone. Too Many people seem to want everything right now with no wait.

Give the crest program a chance. If everything was easy, it would be boring.

    Btw,
No, I do not work for Kabam.
Yes, I used my real gamer name to post this.
Yes, I did pay the money to get a second city. I plan on grinding crests with everyone else though to try and win a third...if possible.

Your right. I agree with you. But guess what???? Some of us DID pay for it and it STILL dosent work!!!!

Working for the crests should not be impossible. Otherwise just say you need to pay to play. Having to attack 1,000 picts to maybe get 100 crests is not a reasonable drop rate, especially when you are losing more resources than you gain, and the picts are somehow stronger than your troops when they appear to be the same. Kabam can do whatever they want, but they should have some integrity and set up a reasonable way to earn something rather than basically strong arming players into paying by making it so difficult. Right now I don't even see getting crests in a week of constant attacking.

it is a free game. if you don't want to pay, don't. you will eventually get the second city, or just **** (Riccardo Kabam msg: keep it nice) and don't get one. Complaining is just stupid.

I have played many games like this and they ALL had this mechanic.

I do think the gem prices are steep and I doubt I'll be buying any.

all I can say for the complainers is quit. more farms for the rest of us.

And you are the sucker who isn't enjoying the game. Don't hate on me because I can afford to spend a few dollars into a hobby.

Working for crests is supposed to be difficult. How do you measure 20 dollars into virtual effort? It's hard. That's to bad. Buy gems if you really want a second city that bad. There are other ways around it though. I mean, get smart with your res and your troops. You can get up to 10 mill might without a second city. Again, that takes time. I've been playing for a while and have tried several different strategies myself, find the one that works best for you.

You guys are a bunch of babies. If you don't like the way Kabam is trying to make money, then leave. Now. No one will miss you. If you want a second city, farm crests till you get them. But it will take a while. This is fair. I payed 20 dollars to get mine, and it would be unfair if you could get yours in a few days of attacking pict camps.

You don't need to buy experience to level your knight up to 200+. It'll take time. Just send him to a wild beside your castle every minute, and he will gain experience.

What res are you trying to boost out? Whatever you are shortest on, you should be able to farm for.

This game is not like every other game out there, stop comparing it to your standards of what it SHOULD be.

Looks like I need to quit

I understand that Kabam wants money, but asking $20 for a second city is just too much, like others say. The in-app purchase, which was once called "micro payment" is no longer micro because of companies like Kabam. People would be more tempted to buy if it is less than $5, and Kabam would get more volume. People might even spend more on other goodies if they start buying. But starting out with $20 discourages many.

The game has become so one-sided due to this. The 'free' way of getting it is next to impossible - you could've avoided fooling people this way by not introducing it the stupid crests/round tower feature. I have a level 8 round tower and I hardly get any crest, may be one in 10 hits. How do you expect one to collect 100 such items when every alliance wants people to not lose might unnecessarily?

100 crests is a bit excessive for a game that has no scripts yet.

Please link to detailed post of formulas for how battles work? As far as I know developers have constantly avoided posting any information as to how this works. And they will never post drop rates because people will laugh in their face lol.

Not everyone wants to pay to buy a lvl 250 knight. My issue with the game is that there are many MANY games out there that are "free" and give you 10+ cities/worlds. We're not able to support the size of our armies with a single city and they've made "earning" one extremely hard. The whole "oh well you can get a deed in merlins free play" is ridiculous. I'd like to see the formula for that drop rate.
