MAIN RULES OF THE FORUMS

Please respect your community. Respect each other as you all enjoy the same thing ? The Game.

We encourage open and friendly discussion of the game and the Community. Moderators and Staff have final decisions on all matters, and are here to make sure that the Community remains a friendly, fun place appropriate for players of all backgrounds, ages and groups.

It is the forum member's responsibility to stay up to date on forum rules and to honor the behavior outlined.

PURPOSE OF THE FORUMS

These forums provide an area for constructive player discussions of the game. It also allows players to
help each other identify bugs and issues, and help each other reproduce and resolve them.

These forums are not the most direct way to contact support. If you?re having an issue with your game and you need direct assistance, please tap on the FAQ/Support tab within the game.

Please make sure to stay updated on these rules by reviewing this page from time to time.

This is a private board. As such, decisions made are final.
We reserve the right to remove any message board content without notice for any reason.


Rule 1: Responses to rule violations
Violating these rules will result in warnings, either formal or informal, suspensions, banning, or other sanctions.

Rule 2: Respect other users on the forums
- Do not make attacks or insult other users, either in the forums or through private messages. Disagreements and debates are fine, but don?t make it personal.
- Do not attack groups. This includes professions, races, religions, sexual orientations, genders, incomes, or even vague groups like ?you people.?
- Do not use ill terms which are offensive to groups, do not ?flame?, ?troll.? or ?haze?.

Rule 3: Respect the forum purpose and structure
- Make your posts in the appropriate forum.
- Please use the Search function. If a relevant thread already exists, please post there instead of creating a new thread about the same topic. Duplicate threads will be closed to keep the forums orderly and easy to navigate.
- Keep off-topic posts in the off-topic forum.
- Don?t start discussions about games that are not ours.
- Do not cross-link to other message boards or websites unless approved by a moderator.

Rule 4: Respect the law
- Do not post anything illegal under U.S. law, or encourage other users to break the laws of the U.S. or their country of residence.
- Do not encourage users to break terms of service. This includes giving information about how to find scripts, exploits, or cheats, as well as arranging to buy or sell accounts or virtual goods.

Rule 5: Respect the audience
Think about who you're talking to. Users may be as young as 13 on these message boards, and may be male or female, and from countries across the globe.
- Keep your language civil. Profanity is frowned on.
- Do not post Adult Material, inappropriate graphic sexual content in any format, or links to sexually explicit sites.
- Do not post graphic images or explicit descriptions of violent acts.
- Do not use an avatar or signature that could offend other users. They have to look at it a lot.

Rule 6: Respect privacy
- Do not post any private emails or private messages unless you have the explicit permission of each person involved in the exchange.
- Do not post private communication between customer support, members, moderators, or administrators on these forums, or anywhere else. (This include support ticket responses)
- Do not post any information covered by a non-disclosure agreement or beta testing agreement. Even if you somehow have inside information about our competitors, for legal reasons we don?t want to hear it.
- Do not post Facebook information about other forum users.
- Do not post any private information about other users.
- Do not post in-game information in an attempt to have other players attack your target. Be careful to not cross the line into bullying.

Rule 7: Do not spam
- Do not post repeatedly about the same topic.
- Do not spam users on the forums or through private messages.
- Do not start a thread without actual purpose.
- Do not start a thread about a news story or article unless you make it clear what the story is about, and offer your own opinion to start a discussion.

Rule 8: Respect your account
- Do not share your account information with other individuals. You will be held responsible for any rules violations that occur under your account.
- Do not create new accounts or use other tricks to avoid suspensions or bans.
- Do not create ?sock puppet? accounts ? multiple accounts created just so that you can agree with yourself and make it seem like your ideas have more support than they do.
- Never include your e-mail address or any other personal information in posts.

Rule 9: Respect the Moderators
- Do not post using the color red. This color is reserved for moderators.
- Do not impersonate moderators. Do not claim to speak for the moderators.

Rule 10: Respect the decisions of the moderators
- The moderation teams reserves the right to warn, suspend, or permanently ban users judged to be acting against the spirit of the rules, even if the user is following the letter of the rules.
- Do not argue with moderators about moderator decisions. You can disagree with a moderator?s opinions, just like any other poster, but when they post moderator actions in red text, it is considered final.
- Moderators have no access to your game account. If you have an issue you must contact customer service.

Generally, BE NICE. There is nothing wrong with being nice to each other.

Walls are pointless now.

  • Walls are pointless now.

    Ever since the last update walls take an extremely long time to train, and are so easy to take down. The gameplay and waring is going to suffer because of this now. What seems to be happening on my server is everyone isn't bothering to build up their walls anymore and just training troops only. so everyone just hides the troops now and might will never drop again. kabam you should make training times for walls faster and reduce the might gained from wall defenses to even out this imbalance. Otherwise people are just going to quit building them all together like what's starting to happen now, and just train troops only.

    What's everyone else's thoughts on this? Am I the only one who sees and thinks this?

    When v5 is released wall defense building times will be 7.5x faster.

      Yes but those defences are useless, they are all level 1 and weak against attacks, I had almost 35K in defences and all destroyed just because the attacker had battering rams or whatever, they are of no use. And this option of hiding troops is silly. I dont see any pupose of this game, as he said, everyone is hiding their troops, and dont build any defences. I am getting bored of this game

        Wall work fine if you have a significant amount of troops defending them. If you don't defend then walls will crumble easily. If you defend then walls will soak up significant damage before your troops start to die. It is risky though because if you are not big enough then some big player will just wipe you out with 100k tier3.

        I agree that there needs to be a way to force troops out to defend though. Without that the game is quickly losing its appeal. If it wasn't for the friendships I have developed in game I probably would of quit already. Hopefully Kabam listen and implement some way to force troops out of hiding.

          I think Kabam should come up with level 3 wall defences, this way one can combat level 3 troops.

            With no wall defense and hidden troops, the game is pretty pointless. There needs to be a way to hurt the city by taking away something. I like how evony does it. They should do the same sort of system so we can conquer the city or get rid of hiding troops so we can destroy the persons might. Otherwise, this game will become pointless.

              Wall Defenses will be split into 2 Tiers, similar to Combat Troops. We currently have 3 in Tier 1 (Ground, Artillery, Horse) and one in Tier 2 (Artillery), 2 more will be added in future releases.

                But 18 might for a trap. 18????? I can take out 1m wall might and only lose 80k of might. Might is just a score and not a reflection of your strength, and this causes people to turtle up and build nothing but wall in 2 cities. As a war game, it should encourage battles and not turtles/scoreboard watching.

                  Hiding troops has to be an option for the person trying to build troops, if they have no way to protect what they try to build, the big guys would constantly be killing them off & that doesn't give the little guys a chance. Especially for those not buying gems doing it the hard way. Im tired of hearing so many complain that they can't kiill EVERYONE they attack, because of this or that.... the game is set up just fine IMO as far as troops and defensive options. If you don't like the game go play something else and stop complaining about it!

                    They should set it up like Archmage where you can only attack people with might similar to you or within a range of ur might. Then if u lose a battle, you cant creamed because u drop to a lower level and the higher might guys can't come take u out.

                      That is what I also see as an issue. Might of walls does not match might of troops. I take out walls all the time with a handful of L1 troops. They really do nothing when one L1 troop representing 4 might can take out on wall defense representing 18 might. Big issue.

                        Defenses augment your troops

                        I am not an overly experienced player, but my view of the defenses is this: Yes, they are weaker, and can be easily overcome by level 2/3 defenses. However, they don't take any upkeep once you build them (unlike your troops). If you are being attacked, take your army out of hiding to combat (if not completely overwhelmed), and the wall defenses will help your troops. Since I got over 100K in might, no one has attacked me, so if/when I am - will post the outcome of my theory. lol

                            Upkeep is irrelevant in this game if you have 2 cities. Food in our alliance is an abundance and it's the case across all the top alliances.
                            We've encountered a number of wars over the past 2-3 weeks with very small players. The player has NO wall, hides his troops and has a high store house/shrink research. You can hit him as many times as you want but nothing can happen. There comes a point where there simply isn't anything to do on this game. NO purpose. Frustration.

                            Kabam needs to find a way to get players to DEFEND their cities. There needs to be consequences for losing a battle. Losing GOLD just don't do it because GOLD is useless after mid game.

                            Here are my suggestion:
                            - Drop the might on Wall Defense. It's nothing but smoke and mirrors.
                            - When a city get defeated, population should drop to 0 (people die and flee from attack) causing resource production to halt. Similar to how TAX works, population should slowly go back up if there's no more attacks.
                            - Players should be able to exchange or ship gold outside of their alliance. This way, smaller players can pay tribute to an alliance. This is a way to pay yourself out of being attack or protection.
                            - AND HERE IS THE BIG ONE. *****DISABLE SPEEDUP ON MARCH******* This will level the playing field and promote reinforcement and good defensive game play. Yes, Kabam wants to make money. I get it. But with MORE battles and MORE coordinated game play, they MIGHT GET MORE PLAYERS to buy those damn GEMS.

                            I've been on this game for 6-8 weeks and also played Travian in the past. If Kabam wants a viable product that can last, they need to make this game more of multi-player and not simply a game of hide and seek with chat.

                              Yeah there is a group who have found this loophole and are simply picking off the top alliances one by one that I assume is the same one you're talking about. You can't blame them for exploiting the loophole but it is definitely frustrating for those of us who spent money on gems in your game, kabam, and followed the city building tips as laid out in the tutorial and are now getting destroyed with no repercussions.

                              Making five mill mobile might with no walls, then maxing out storage and shrinking powder and hiding troops means that retaliation is doing nothing more than giving these people more cords to use.

                              They've found a loophole in your game and everyone has been forced to move towards this model or die out, eventually there will be no more war because there will be no more walls and all troops will be hidden.
