  • **Arthur's Troop Design Contest**

CONTEST IS NOW OVER!!! Vote for your favorite HERE!

    Lords and Ladies,

With constant battles throughout the lands, King Arthur has issued a search for the bravest of fighters to come and fight for his kingdoms. But not just any Swordsman will do, he needs something the enemy doesn’t have - a completely new Troop! The King has entrusted you with designing the next weapon of war. Your troop can be created by using any art program or materials: Photoshop, crayons, colored pencils, paint, etc.

    How to Enter:
To participate in this event, upload your Troop art/design to this thread in the Forums. In your post make sure to give your Troop a name and a little flavor text. Troop designs need to be of the Medieval Era, so sorry no plasma rays! Of all entries submitted, the Top 10 will be selected by the Battle for the North Team. The Top 10 Troops will then be voted on by you through the Forums, to provide us with the 3 Grand Prize Winners.

NOTE: Any plagiarized, trademarked material or inappropriate Troop names or content will make your entry null and void (ORIGINAL CONTENT ONLY). On your Troop design, you MUST include your in-game name and world. You may only submit an entry once.

    Prizes:
The Top 10 selected will win 750 Gems, the 3 Grand Prize Winners will win an additional 750 Gems (1500 Gems total).

    Deadline:
Submit by March 13th, 2014 06:59 UTC . Only one entry per account will be accepted for this contest. The top 10 entries will be selected and posted for players to vote on by March 15th, 2014 01:00 UTC and will run through March 16st, 2014 23:00 UTC. The Winners will be announced March 17th, 2014 18:00 UTC. Please allow a minimum of 3-5 business days for payout of your prize after the event has ended.

To upload your Troop design on the forums we suggest visiting an image hosting site (such as imgur) and uploading your picture. Once uploaded copy the BBCode and paste the link in your reply to display your image.

      Hello there,

And will Kabam take full charge of the selection of the winning designs, instead of offering votes to the public/players? The latter approach as used in the previous design contest, and there were many unhappy feedback about spammed votes. Why not let the Kabam KOC bftn Design team be the judges?

New Troop - Peaks of Fury

In a foggy morning there was the sound of swords and weapons on another terrifying battle.
A shining morning star fell off the skies lighting up an amazing and mysterious combatant who was lifting his arm and with a virile rotational movement was throwing fatal blows at the enemy.
The sun was showing the first signs and those who were watching from a distance and saw the aggressiveness and cruelty how he was reaching the enemy, and without knowing him, decided to call it Peaks of Fury.
Peaks of Fury became a legend due to his strength and destroying skills.
Loved by his allies, feared and hated by his enemies, he marched towards more battles collecting victories and leaving his testimony.

                          Ragnarök
Inspired by the Cataphracts - armored calvaries, and by tank designs of Leonardo da Vinci, this design focuses the defensive 'tank frontage' as part of its concept of a charging force. As part of the piercing charge to penetrate the enemy front, not unlike a charging rhino or the lance, this warrior's key strategy is break through any enemy front & attack from the back of the opposing army, creating mass panic & confusion.

                          FEAR
The Ragnarök knights are hardcore, with unyielding dedication. Even their families are behind their dedication - the knights & families takes a poison that kills a month after the end of battle. Ragnarök knights who continue their forward charge in battle (like the infamous Winged Hussars) will earn the antidote for their whole family. This is voluntary, and is a sign of their extreme dedication. One might think of the Samurai's seppuku (suicide due to the shame of failure), but the Ragnarök would only be deemed to have failed if they did not continue their forward charge in battle. Fallen Ragnarök knights, or lost battles, would still see the Ragnarök honored, and all rewarded with the antidote. Morbid, but motivates via unyielding dedication in battle rather than fear ---> HARDCORE

The surfaces of the Ragnarök 'tank,' horse steel-plate helm, knight armor, lance, horn-blade, scythe blades, are textured but highly reflective - To hold the enemy's blood/body parts well to its surface, while making it clearly visible ---> A SIGHT OF BLOODY TERROR

The carnage that the Ragnarök delivers - wriggling enemy troops without legs, decapitated heads flying everywhere, screaming troops impaled on its 'horn-blades' unable to break free, and their helms are designed to amplify their war cry - this is the true power of this troop ---> INSTILL FEAR AT A FRIGHTENING, UNSTOPPABLE SPEED.

                          RESOURCE REQUIRED: TROOP KILLS
Perhaps the Ragnarök will be able to defeat the Imperial Guards easily for this game. To balance it, it could require 'Troop Kill' values of players to train it. For instance, 10k or 100k troop kills unlock the opportunity to train 1 unit of Ragnarök. This would reflect the 'bloodlust' needed to train such a powerful troop.

                          STRATEGIC DESIGN
The 'tank' element is kept just to the front to minimize weight, resulting in a terrifyingly fast charge. The massive middle lance, accompanied by 'horn-blades' by its side, & accessorized by scythe blades - all aim to kill enemy troops fast or injure them but leading to a slow painful death. The middle lance is thick steel that breaks bodies & enemy artilleries with ease, while the 'horn-blades' impale enemy troops. The scythe blades cut off enemy legs, while the knight yields a heavy blade that is able to cut off the heads of both man & beast (eg, horses).

With the sides being vulnerable, the Ragnarök can be linked side-to-side in groups of 10, so that any Ragnarök knight killed will still continue its charge together with the rest of the group. The knight's armor is also linked to the 'tank' frontage by steel chains, so that any injured knights (even dead ones) will stay on the horse, at least to continue swinging his blade, or act as a decoy.

The back of the knight is another vulnerable point. This is helped by a cloak, inspired by the Japanese Samurai 'Horo' - the charging wind puffs up this cloak into a sort of parachute shape, which has been proven to stop arrows. Plus, it's undulating shape as it moves through the air also makes it more difficult to aim at. The cloak will be able to sustain fire for a long time, and the open back & sides of the design allows the Ragnarök knights to dismount when in the middle or back of the enemy's army and fight, while the Ragnarök horses will continue their charge. The cloak attaches easily to the back of the horse and when set on fire, ensures the horses continue their charge.

THE NAME: BATTLE WITH THE DEATH OF GODS
The Ragnarök name is inspired by the legend of a great battle which sees the death of many great gods (eg, odin, thor, loki). This troop would be of very high attack and life attributes. It's only weakness will be a combination of equal numbers of defending Testudos & Fire Catapults, creating enough of an extremely strong 'meat shield' while the unusually large quantity of powerful artillery takes them out from a distance. Using the Testudo-Fire Catapult combo to attack a Ragnarök army will not work, as the extra 55% defense-life bonus from a *11 elevated wall is necessary to defeat the Ragnarök.

This, is the proposed overall design concept for the Ragnarök.

                            Bloody Mary

                            http://imgur.com/9adWOw9http://

For those who think that who wins the battles is the muscle strength, that’s because they never crossed with Bloody Mary and her Medieval Axe.
Bloody Mary was a bright, smart and sexy warrior who commanded her feminine army against the evil Picts.

By the time men were aghast and tired by the long war, she took the reins of combat and advanced against the enemy without mercy.
Its Medieval Axe symbolizes war and destruction, but also power and dignity.
In Bloody Mary hands the Medieval Axe is the keystone in a dance that she practices on the battlefield, slashing enemies with mastery and art.

                              Imperial Arbalests!

                              My troop submission:
                              Imperial Arbalests

These troops were discovered upon King Arthur's recent diplomatic journey into China during the Chinese New year celebration. He found that they had taken a standard crossbow and reinforced and strengthened the firing capacity to increase both range and strength. These troops were then armed with black powder crossbow bolts, from the rockets used for celebrations in China, for maximum attack power carnage. Arthur did note however that these troops were more effective during attacks rather than defense due to the damage they caused to the castle during a defense training session. He decided to bring these notes back and implement them immediately on his offensive fronts to quickly dispatch the reinforced castles of his enemies.
