Unless they are removed, which I didn't check, there are discussions earlier in this thread about a known bug where the gold consumption is not consistent with what the production less upkeep, as shown on a popup in the game, would indicate. There is a claim by a player that Kabam told him, or someone, that Kabam does not consider the glitch to be worth the trouble to fix. But the result is - you can't trust the numbers. Unless you have a lot more gold than it would appear that you need while you are gone then you may run out. I've tracked it over a couple days with readings when I was able and the results definitely don't add up. There also appears to be a random "adjustment" in gold inventory at periodic times. Both the rate errors and "adjustments" go both ways (positive and negative), but we only notice the ones that hurt us.
I'm not sure why one knight would unassign and not all, but it appears to be part of the programming - maybe if you have income but not enough, only the worst upkeep user drops out, but I'm only speculating.
I know that filing tickets is a frustrating experience, but if you want any hope of fixing it, then keep filing tickets with data they can use. If nothing else, I'm sure the squeakiest wheel gets oiled.

But I also think it is evident that there is more than one cause of the unassigning and this inaccuracy of the gold value is only one. Another is probably misunderstandings when reporting the problem resulting in inaccurate reports of the problem. Another relates to the proper opening and closing of the city defense (not going into detail on that here). But based on what I have read, I think it likely that there is at least one more cause that either hasn't been identified or at least not with sufficient evidence.

I suppose Steward should have got unassigned, but I could also see them (Kabam) checking and dropping knights individually until you can sustain them (and starting with Marshal because he's the least important, right? ). I'm just checking on the possibility, because so far I haven't seen a single unassign that was proved NOT to be due to lack of gold.

Perhaps theres a logical explanation for this but i cannot see it

Then I guess it's more towards the gold bug that has existed quite a long time ago. That gold is being eaten up at a much faster rate than what is written. Again it could be a hack but it's most likely a bug as I've also experienced it many times during my early days. Left my knight on Steward overnight, had net gold surplus and also gold storage but came back the next morning to find it all eaten up and knight was un-marshall. Also what I discovered from testing last time when I had this glitch open issue is that when you assign a knight no matter where, it does work for a short period and it even generates gold for you the first hour. Very weird tho.

I don't think it's a hack because it doesn't only affect marshall but every other abilities that you can assign a knight on. I think it's more of Kabam not having a mechanism to automatically un-assign the knight on your device when their servers already unassigned yours. This is probably why when we try to unassign it, it shows an error because it's already unassigned in the first place on their servers thus needing a refresh of the game to sync the device with the servers.

It happens that the interface lies. Saying Marshall assigned when is not. To be sure a Marshall is really assigned, you must unassign him and assign him again. If you receive an error message, it means that the server consider your Marshall unassigned but your terminal display it is.

The only way to reassign your Marshall is to refresh your app (not a good solution when being attacked with troops off). So the ideal scenario is to hide troops, refresh app, put Marshall again and show your troops again.

The reason why the marshall display in not sync between server and terminal is still a good question. On Lancelot135, some says it's a hack. A lot says it's a bug. Oftenly, the majority is wrong.

I have had this happen where I was unknowingly opened unmarshalled and lost all of my troops. I sent mail to Kabam asking for assistance only to recieve a reply that due to a tk tourney going on they could not replace my troops lost. The more recent concern however is opening and Marshalling my knight during incoming attacks and the reports showed my city as closed and i didnt get the troop kills i was needing. Not sure why this happens but would say it does have alot to do with my WIFI connection.

Hey moderators - what do you have to say to this? Why did you start this thread if you knew there was an every day issue related to this thread that Kabam considers too trivial to be fixed.
I bet every single player experiences this and suffers for it one way or another. Maybe some reach the point where it is no longer relevant.
I play a lot of online games, but I have never seen one with so many internal glitches and such blatant disregard for the customer especially in regard to lack of honesty. Not even close. There is literally a glitch that costs me assets in some way EVERY DAY and usually more than once per day. And Kabam usually acts like my reports are baseless.

I can definitely attest that I have had Knights unassigned with apparently positive gold net but in reality the inventory was going down. And others when there was a quantum unexpected change. I noticed one of the loading tips says make sure you have plenty of gold. So here's the question. How much is safe? I don't open my city because I am not strong enough. So I don't like to encourage others to raid me so I keep gold low. I'm getting tired of reassigning stewards when I log on if I haven't been attacked. (Obviously I can't complain if I got attacked and zeroed.)
