  • Game changers...

I was going to reply to a thread asking for a Fallen Vam event but I decided to
just post something separate since its an interesting topic.
Just wanted to share my opinion on the matter....

For all the recent fallen vam craze,
something to consider is the previous single best cards in the game **both were
pretty available when they first came out.
First it was Gaznar, which was summonable for a limited but good amount of time.
Then it was Shiverheart which was given its own unique event, a mini game, plus 2
copies were given to every player by accident (if they logged on that Christmas).
Back then, having those cards instantly catapulted your deck.
A good many people had them and everyone who had them T4ed was near the top of
    their server.
However.... Since then, kabam has learned something.
The way they figure it is, if players can gets to the top too quickly then there will be less
incentive for them to spend to get there.
    So they did two things.
    1. They added many more combos into the mix and have gotten away from making single
cards with that kind of impact
    2. Now that they have released a major impact card, they have made it harder to get than
any card in the games history.
If you played the Fallen Vam mini-game, you'll notice that you could go through 7000 gems
and not even seen it appear once.
Players could literally blow $1k and be considered lucky to get 2.
This card is so hard to get, so rare, that it might as well be 7*.
(Just consider that 6* drops at about a 00.0018% rate.)
I hate to break it like that but there's not going to be a fallen vam wandering boss/event
    for quite some time.
Kabam isn't ready for that. Not unless they first create 20-30 more cards that
    are as or more valuable.
It's ok to dream and all but I'd be surprised if I see that card become easily
    avaiable before 2016.
Anyway, in the meantime, I encourage players to stay content, keep saving those stones,
waiting on storms, hitting those events.
Little by little, and if that's not fun enough, I totally get wanting to quit.
The game can get boring after a while and kabam's customer disservice doesn't help.
All in all we can only hope that kabam makes this game enjoyable along the way.
If you're willing to stick around, more power to you. If not, you're probably better off.

Well those are my thoughts. What are yours?

**Although Ice Overlord was pretty OP at first, its biggest impact came through a
single random element, its proc which was nerfed.
Gaznar simply had the strongest proc of its time and one of the best combos of its time.
Shiverheart had the best stats of its time and a brutal proc that was still good after a nerf.

For the lazy readers (TL;DR): There won't be an easy way to get Fallen Vambrael in the near future, even "soon" doesn't apply. And I must say, I'm totally glad about it.

I don't know. Just think about this being pixels that have no use in real life and about the dollars (or whatever currency you use) being gone, once they'll shut down the game (which will happen. Maybe not this year, maybe not next year, but it sure won't last 100 years). You can't sell them, you can't use them in any other game, thery'e worthless. And still people can't get any, as if they're such a big deal.

I'm okay with vamp in any form being unable to reach. Never had any, neither fallen nor normal, and never will get one. But they have it with almost every 6* card, unless you pay. Even the weakest cards are unavailable for people who don't want to blow up good money for worthless crap, unless there is a summon storm, in which you get 1% 6*. And still, there are only the mid strong cards, not the best, so people who don't have the money will never ever have any chance to see the good cards - unless their in their opponent's deck in arena.

Which means: Either pay thousands of dollars or don't have any chance in the game. Neither the arenas, nor the tower or even the last city in questing.
If you think, that's okay, you must be a millionaire without the knowledge how to live with less than 200$ a month for everything. (Or even with less than 1000$.)

And no, I'm not saying they should make it easy. I know, this is a business and without paying players the game would not exist, as it costs to both pay the artists and programmers (and GMs) and to run the servers. It's okay to make it easier for people if they pay. That's life. But making people pay HUGE amounts without getting anything useful should be illegal. AND there should be every bloody card existing in the summon pool for summoning with stones. Even if the chance is 1: 1 Trillion, that is the only way to make the game something close to fair. It would still mean, the usual player will never see the good cards. But it would also mean, if they are very, very lucky (and could not use that luck in a real life lottery), they MIGHT get one of this special cards without paying. It's about hope, even if you know it's false. False hope is better than knowing you have no chance at all and not having a reason to keep playing, because without the F2Ps the game would not exist either. Why keep a game running for a few selected players if millions quit, because they realize without money they are undesired?

Not a bad read except I think your comparison is wildly off base. Fallen vamb has no resemblance to shiver heart or gaznar. While those where strong
Cards at the time they where far from the best in the game, where fallen vamb is clearly the best in the game.

This card should be compared to vambreal and ria. The two most sacred cards when this game first
Started. Neither card was in the summons pool for the first 6 months this game was active. Pay to win only.

At the time they combined for the best end game combos. It wasn't until almost a year before they where available in regular summons. The same every time a new top combo is introduced. Even to this day ria and vamb are rare drops even for 6* cards.

Please stop wasteig your breathe asking for fallen vamb event. Anyone who seriously thinks we will get one In the next 6 months has no clue how this game works. Fallen vamb is the money maker right now. They will NOT give him away for free just because you have reflect. People are spending thousands right now just to walk away with 2-3 copies .

Spaz plz just start banning ppl who want fallen vamb event lol

I completely disagree. I can tell you from experience with a 7 card Fallen Vamb, the real game changer is still Icelord, and by far.

Think about this. My current deck without any procs hits 1.3 million attack per round. That's good enough to take out almost any front team in a round. However, I can't tell you how many times I've lost a streak to a player with 300k less base HP because his/her Icelord proc'd 3 times in a row. That's 3.9 million of attack I lost. This happened yesterday, I lost to a deck that put out 550k attack per round but their Icelord proc'd 3 times in a row and there was nothing I could do.

Fallen is a very good card and fun to have, but he's still pretty much worthless compared to Icelord.

Btw.. I absolutely hate the skill of Icelord and it's the only card I have ever wished to be nerfed. It's the biggest thing Kabam has ever done to equalize the spenders to the non-spenders and that's not always a good thing. After going all out to get Fallen only to discover I still have to skip the same players who have an Icelord, where's my incentive to continue spending? There isn't one and Fallen was the last time I spent anything in this game. I doubt I will again either unless they drop Icelord to 1 time per battle or something similar.

            That's my 2 cents.

Thats a good point about Rhi and Vam being major cards cards back in the day but what
I am getting at is the card's impact by itself. If you had a perfect Vam or Rhi separately,
it helped but you needed both. It was the gods combo that was the game changer.
If you had a perfect gaznar, you automatically had a second team which could could deal over 150k attack next to your dragons because everyone already had a T4 morbius, or could get one easily.
That second team separated the top tier of players.
And if you had a T4 Shiver, even if it were 4 cards, you could take your tank to a new level and cripple (and annoy) players with its excessive procs.
In fact back when clearing city 5 was an epic achievement, I don't think any player was able to
clear it without either Shiv or Gaz. At least I wasn't able to.
But definitely agree, Rhi and Vam have great value and have kept it pretty well.
Thats why I laugh at the idea of them being considered "old" as if they aren't still very relevant.

I've been wondering.. what is point of having a top deck anyways? We strive for it and if we get it then what?

Yeah there really is no point to having a top deck cause once you do well you don't rely need any cards from the arenas so you don't participate in any of them and you most likely don't need to raid or farm cities and so the only thing you really do is farm bosses during events so having a top deck just makes you want to leave the game sooner cause there is very little for you to do.

Yeah herein is the real problem for HOC, dont think Kabam has an answer to this question either (at least they keep it hidden)

You have to constantly improve your deck to maintain your status. That is the hard part.

That sure is disappointing. Thanks for the insights.
I do not realize IO would still cause problems for the EE combo.
I guess its fair to put IO in that class. And maybe in its own class since
its the only card that players can get completely on their own with enough grinding.

I think Icelord is in it's own class altogether. While Fallen is the strongest base card, if a 7 card T4 procs 3 times a round, that's 900k damage and 450k heal. If a T1 Icelord procs 3 times against my deck, that's essentially almost a 4 million HP shield for the other team. Even if it only procs once, that still blocks 1.3 million damage. It's absolutely insane and you really don't need a huge deck to get lucky and wipe out the top player in any realm.

Events are potion management and time management. Never really was about top deck. It was about who had the most potions and the time to use them.

CS was the place for top deck, but everyone wants everything handed to them so easy. So this went bye bye since the golden rhiannon event. Yes it has been that long.

Arenas matching is bad. You should be able to fight everyone who plays the arena not the same to 5 people only.
