  • What's the Point of Getting a Top Deck In HOC?

Don't get me wrong, I love HOC, but as we all strive to build a top deck, what happens when we reach that?

If you really break the game down, there isn't much to do the higher your deck gets. Sure you can win arena's easier, but how many times do top decks REALLY need the prizes in Arena?

Having a top deck doesn't even matter in events either because all you do is battle with reflect on a wandering boss.

So what's the real point of a top deck or striving for a top deck?

I really think Kabam needs to focus on that more as more and more players reach that point. I have a few ideas of course

    1) If they ever fix Global Arena's, a global tournament and ranking system would be nice.
    2) Add tougher Raid bosses. Keep the 4 there, but add a few new ones which require a nice deck to defeat instead of a "Raid deck". To balance out the game add 4 new raid bosses, 2 lower tier and 2 higher.
    3) More wandering bosses.
    4) Higher, tougher levels on the tower + better prizes in shop.
    5) Revamp Castle Siege system. It has so much potential for being a guild event and a way to directly challenge decks.

That castle siege ranking rewards should be guild based. Not player based. That's also why castle siege is so underrated and unpopular compared to regular events. If you do castle siege as a real guild event, with top 1 prize (3 6* chests) for all the guild members, it would be a lot more fun and challenging!

I agree, except you can't reward non-participating guild members, so maybe top 10 members in guild who get 1st place? Castle Siege itself could get its own topic.

Few things I'd like to see:

        1) More rewards for defending a castle. As it stands now, if you try to strengthen a castle you are helping the other players instead of yourself.
        2) Chance for a Lord drop as a reward for a successful castle RAID + your guild claiming it. This ensures it's not a single player event.
        3) Prizes for guilds holding a castle X amount of time. Also encourages defending a castle.

You're tackling a very deep topic, part of the appeal the game has is that it drives us to being "Perfect" by obtaining top combos and pe cards.
I've asked this question to myself many times usually post-inApp purchase and wondered: "hey, these are just pixels you're buying. What happens when you lose interest, or when you get to the top of the hill and realise there's nothing to do anymore/ nothing worthy of your time".

I guess it depends why you play, for me I realise I play mainly because I like the format: mobile, social - helps to kill time everywhere, while talking to cool people.

Plus, seeing as Kabam runs things, and how much money some players spend on this game, perfection is far fatched for a casual working person like me

Would be interested to see replies from Top players in different realms.

I am not a top player yet, but I guess you can say upper tier on my realm. With that said, I have loved the thrill of the chase.. collecting cards, building my deck, but as I have reached a crossroad where there are only certain cards that would bump up my deck I realize I may be nearing the end and the chase itself is not as exciting as it once was. Plus, once I land a few more cards I may need to become even higher, then what?

It seems the game lacks many activities to do with a nice deck you built.

Sadly I feel there's not much reward for improving your deck atm. Been progressing a lot but arena isn't getting any easier, quite the opposite - it's become 100% impossible to keep a streak. Whatever upgrades I do don't mean much in events either unless the upgrade is to get a reflect combo. Basically just farming pots by suiciding, hoping to get enough stones and enough luck to cash in the storm after next event. Starting to get very bored with refreshing impossible matches.

Need all new guild event, castle siege is shiiiit.
Need new raid bosses, decks are way to big for the ones we have now

But most of all NEED more arens choices. 3 per day is not enough especially when 2 of them are always a potions shower. Should have a potions and or guild scroll every day , and 3-5 arenas with cards and stones . make it so its almost impossible to win allllllll the rank rewards like people do now. Make good decks have to choose what to play rather than just telling us what we have to play because there are no good options

                  Excellent point.
Sometime improving your party actually results in arenas becoming much harder, it depends on the leap I guess.

                  Thank you for your input.

I am not here to promote any other games, but recently started playing another deck game and have been blown away at the amount of things they have to do in comparison. Just to give you an idea, they have: Worlds, Mazes within a world, arena, raids you can perform on players, dungeon levels to gain heroes, a gauntlet, guild maps which are like cities only for guilds, and I am probably forgetting more.. it made me look back at HOC which btw I still love, but made it feel like lots is missing.

Could you tell me via pm? Thanks!

And I hear you when you say that non active guild members shouldn't be rewarded for top 1 spot in castle siege. But that's another problem, it's between the guild master and the non active members to workout this issue. Hence why I'm asking for a real guild event. Because castle siege has so much potential.. The thing is like you said, you can't build anything otherwise you're helping others. Because rewards suck, 2k coins and a 2* for defending a castle is pointless even for a noob lol.

This sounds a lot like Deck Heroes.

I have recently started playing this game... Its unreal how much content they have and also how many "freebies" there are in this game.
