  • Prices

As this is the general discussion area, I thought I might ask, if the prices are as illogical in other countries as they are in german HoC. Each amount of gems/jewels is getting a little more expensive in comparison with the one before. 350 gems cost 4.99€, 700 gems should therefore cost 9.98€, but it's 9.99€. Not much, sure, but each step is more expensive. And people that spend hundreds and hundreds of euros therefore lose a lot of money to this.

Okay, you could say the free cards are worth it, I'm not sure about that. I'm not interested in them, but maybe others are. And no, this is no complaining. I don't have the money to buy gems, so I will never lose money with this. I was just interested, if nobody noticed that and if it's the same in different language versions.

Another Point which should be mentioned is that you can Buy Google Play Cards for 15€ / 25€ and 50€. Why not selling Gems for exact these Prices? For example 1050 Gems for 15€..... Just an idea

The in game currency has no actual value so you can't sell it back for real money

I think, druff meant that it would make more sense to sell the gem bundles ingame for a price that doesn't leave a few cents on the account. Like buying one for 19.99 and one for 4.99 and having two cents left of a 25€-Card you can't use for anything. But it's the same with every game. And in real life as well. They all like this X.99 prices.

I'd prefer an exchange rate that stays the same and isn't tied to a specific amount of gems, like ... 1 gem for ... 2 cents. And you can buy exactly the amount you need for a chest or something like that. I once bought the smallest bundle and now I have 38 gems left, I will never be able to use. There was something in the shop for 39 gems, but nothing cheaper.

Just while we are on pricing... I would like to have a little whinge... I am a paying player and have only stopped spending in the last couple months. I half regret the amount I have spent on the game! haha! but on the other hand I really love the game and have gotten plenty of enjoyment out of it. So I think no hard feelings between my wallet and Kabam! BUT I have seen the cost increase from a overpriced product to almost daylight robbery!

In my country(Australia) It costs $129.99 for 7k gems
in my experience 7k gems could get you 1 good 6* card in a decent promo. Plenty times I have used more than that to get a specific card. Other times they run bad promos where you get nothing, ever. Sometimes you get lucky and you can do better but I am just going to go on average here. So lets say 1 good 6* card costs $130.00
For 1 6* card in an online game I can buy 1 weeks groceries for my family.
For 2 6* cards in this game I can have a weekend away in a beaut location in a 4 star resort with my wife.
For 4 6* cards I can pay a weeks rent on a 4 bedroom, 2 bathroom house in a good area.
FOR 1x PE T4 6*(well 7* at this stage) CARD I could effectively get a 7 night overseas holiday to a 5* Bali resort including flights and accommodation!!!!!

I am happy to keep playing the game! Its a great game! But do I realize now how over priced it is!!!??? YOU BETCHA MATE! FAIR DINKUM I DO AYE!!!

That's the reason I refuse to pay for cards in each game I play. I sure would like to have good cards, but I can't sell them when I quit playing, I can't use them anywhere else, and they cost VERY much. I've got 150€ per month to live with it. Okay, I get food, and so on payed by my parents as a student but I can't even afford to move away from them and have a daily bus ride of 3 hours to university. I have to buy my books, everything else I need, and daily stuff like shampoo, I can't see the sense in spending so much money in a game that might be over in a day or two. Many games have been deleted in the last years, both online on computer and apps, and you can be the strongest player, once they close down the game, all the money is gone. I rather spend my money for books. They can't take them away from you and you can use them over and over again.

But even if I had the money ... You can buy cards for real life trading card games like Magic for under one euro - very good cards - if you want to. And ONE single summon, only 4* and above, costs more in HoC. So yeah, it's over priced.

Still no hard feelings from my side, I'm rather amused that people spend money for this. I mean, I like the game and I would like to support it with money so it won't be shut down, but not for the things I get for the money I spend. Not worth my money.

+1. Nicely said. Btw, i'm also a student and i also know this. At this stage of your life it's important to give your money for real stuff, not virtual (well this doesn't mean that you don't have to play games). If you have good (or above) job one day and you have some extra money to spend for what you wish - OK, but in other case it isn't worthy.

                  EXTREMELY overpriced.

A single REAL Black Lotus could drain you more than $5.000 (don´t know the current price) but you are sure you will get the card and you could get a good return of investing in (unrestricted?) championships, or you can sell it later. In HoC you only buy CHANCES to get a bunch of pixels you cannot get rid of later.

Saw a few black lotusses for between 5 and 500 € when I just checked, but I don't know if they're real, as I never really played Magic. Once had a deck, but no one I knew played so it got boring By that time I probably would have sold a black lotus, if I owned one, for a few cents. I just prefer useful things, I guess .
