The arena update is coming! We have all been waiting patiently for the patch and I'm glad to confirm that it is around the corner.
Arenas are going to be changing a little bit. Here is a quick list of changes to give you guys an idea where the future of arenas are going to take us:
1. Higher cost per fight
Higher cost?! What the-.... Yes. The cost per fight is going up a bit. The goal is not to gouge you guys on the arenas but we want to put better rewards in the arenas. Thus, we need to raise the cost of those arenas.
I promise NOT to hike the ticket cost to 25 tickets per fight but you might feel a squeeze now during the arenas since rewards are going to be better. I am aware that changing the ticket cost from 1 - 2 makes a big difference. I will be monitoring the results and adjusting it so you always have arena tickets in your inventories to burn.
2. One-Time Entry Fee
There will be some changes to One-Time Entry fees. Not sure what the final result is yet, but we will make sure that it is fair. If it isn't at first I know you guys will tell me
and I will adjust accordingly.
3.Smoother Reward Spikes
Right now players have to play to a certain Might Level to get a decent reward. In the mean time you guys have to grind through some "meh" reward steps before you get that "bang" of a reward. I want to take the 20 pots at 3000 Might and sprinkle them through out 1005-2750 (and through out the whole reward ladder). So There will be less "bang" at the top reward but each step will yield a more decent reward. The goal is less spikes and more cruise in terms of receiving rewards. Since players get a decent reward each step new players won't fall short of that "bang" reward and be satisfied with the accumlulation of rewards.
4. Themed arenas
This sounds like a Demon arena. Sorry....not yet (It's noted though). There will be some arenas with 3 star and 4 star Might Rewards that follow a theme ("Fire cards" or "Camelot Fighters" for example). The top rewards will still be that 5 star I know you love (
) but but this allows 24 hour arenas to keep a low ticket cost, and I might be able to run two 12 hour arenas instead of one 24 hour. It mixes things up.
IMPORTANT: I need to know exactly how these changes are effecting you guys. We have many types of players (Big spenders, Free to Players, PVP'ers, PVE'ers, Collectors, Completion-ist, and all the different types in between). Arenas are available to everyone but it's impossible to make an arena that everyone will enjoy. As the new arenas roll out WE (the players and GMs) are going to analyze them. The Arenas will be tweaked to target specific groups and types of players so everyone has an arena than can enjoy.
