Yeah yeah, I'll get around to changing my username later. Now let's get down to business.
The Good
Easy explore mode was very well designed. The amount of feeder cards, ss, arena tickets, etc. were appropriately balanced. This provided players with a chance to spend their stamina while feeling good about it. The +30 stamina drop was also a great touch once it was debugged. Halloween cards were well thought out. They were creative enough for all players to enjoy using or collecting them, yet were not overpowered enough to unbalance the game.
The Bad
I'll start with the obvious. The biggest complaints voiced by players throughout the event was the dismal drop rates in hard explore mode. Let's add some perspective to this. Halloween is a holiday where kids put in the effort of going around to houses but at the end of the night get to dump their huge pile of goodies out onto the living room floor before enjoying them. In this event, I felt that I was trick or treating in a neighborhood where only 1 in 20 houses were handing out candy. You see normally at this point the parents would run to Walmart real quick to get their kids a bag of candy to help compensate for the lousy night. But when I received 2 father m's from the rewards chests it felt as though the parents just gave me a few cough drops from the medicine cabinet. You see, after already being disappointed with the low drop rates all week, my opinion of the event sunk even lower when I received 2 of the lowest boss cards for a reward for all of my hard work. I have 2 things to say about the boss fights- 1) make the drops more common in the future. It's an event about the holiday where people hand out goodies yet I know maybe 2 players that received a scarecrow. And 2) don't ever hand out 2 star cards as a drop from beating a boss, I think others have said enough on this issue that I don't need to elaborate.
Overall, yes we can all admit this was a bit of a downer. But we can view it as a learning experience and do better next time! I'll be looking forwards to holiday events in the future.
