I think mana and stars restriction could be a great start to let newer players win some rewards

Do 4* arena. Limit all cards in the deck to 4 stars only. Let's play without Vambriel, Shiver, Serpents. Still let us use mages and elementals

Restric by total mana cost (all 3 teams no more than 60-70-80) or if possible restric invididual cards for up 11 mana per units for example

That will definely require to develop new strategies and use new cards and combos that otherwise gather dust in drawers (I really liked recent Druid/Camelot arenas)

I have just one request though. If you do this, PLEASE give 5* or 6* card as reward don't award just stones or 4* cards. With strong card prizes you'll allow new players to build stronger decks and compete with veteran players in other arenas

Hi Aaron, my simple idea (not sure if will work): just create extra arenas with low prizes (example: 3 stars only). Top players will ignore them focusing in the standard ones with better prizes. This will give more possibilities to players of low level that otherwise cannot compete in the normal arenas.

I don't think the hp/stars restriction will be an efficient system because anyway top players will be able to put together the most competitive decks.

I'll try throwing up one of these restricted arenas this weekend, as a test of sorts. We can see how much fun and strategy the total party cost or total stars limitation can add. Just need to come up with a good number to use (e.g. 48 stars)
Aaron...6 mana arena. Everyone fights to the death with their father farming teams. Seed arena with typical father prizes: bird, tix, mana potion and gold. Lol

Even limiting factors that don't shake up the winners slot have value in giving the players a different experience and providing the community a reason to keep growing their bench cards rather than just feeding them. There are cards in everyone's deck that receive no love but all of a sudden become key to a different format. Some variety would be nice. That said, I'll have to think about the options before providing any specific ideas. Thanks for the reply Aaron.

PS: daemon only arenas wouldn't work as there are too few daemon cards unless everybody was one teaming arena, but it would have been cool

    My 2$ cents

If you can work toward this goal it would be great because:

    1) Faction = kinda ok, seems working
    2) Level = total irrelevant since we lvl up so fast and the gap would still exists especially in the 61-80 arena
    3) Party Cost = kinda irrelevant because cost is not influenced by card's Tier nor level
    4) Stars = same problem of above
    5) Card Level = could work if it also takes in account card's Tier
Yeah, I would love to have stats restrictions, deck rank restrictions and per-card star restrictions.

Sure. Currently, we can restrict arenas by the following:

    1) Faction (but not currently daemon)
    2) Level
    3) Total Party Cost (mana)
    4) Total Stars
    5) Card Level

Now, I'm going to be taking a more active role in planning arenas, so I'd love to take some feedback and help make recommendations over here. And we can certainly test out a few of the aforementioned restrictions that we have yet to use. But, they are limited in that we can only restrict by TOTAL cost and TOTAL stars. This can be useful to help provide some new strategy to the arenas, but it certainly won't provide the balancing factor some people are hoping for.

    Restricted Arenas

Hey Aaron, the below seems interesting. Specifically Curtis's response which is the last sentence of the quote. I thought (but may be wrong) that you had said you were very limited in how u could splice and dice arenas. So far we've seen clan (Druid/camelot-hey any chance of a daemon arena to spice things up?) and level based arenas. Would you care to enlighten us on what other various was you can restrict arenas?

A common refrain in chat is how to give newer or free players a better chance at arenas and it would be nice to know what your capabilities are in being able to restrict arenas. That way we can give you feedback on better ways to make some arenas and (appropriately scaled) rank prizes more accessible to those players.

"what about defining a "card value" to be used as a restriction?
card value may be the result of many factors such as:
    -card stard and/or mana cost
-tier of evolution and / or card level
    -overall stats

restricted arenas should not only give some chances to low level player / new players / free players but it will be quite interesting for everyone playing with ALL cards and mixing them togheter in new ways

We actually have the ability to restrict Arenas in many various ways. I'll let our live team know and we'll try out some new requirements."
