TL;DR version: As a show of support for upset players, I won't use my Shiverheart until Kabam resolves this fiasco.
Hey all!
I've been playing for a week and absolutely love this game! Sure, there are issues, but I think it has great potential. Most importantly, it's exactly the sort of pleasant diversion I want it to be. Great art, simple gameplay, and nice progression.
Full disclosure: I've been playing for 8 days. I'm level 71. I have a 97 MP S deck with 114k Health and 31k Attack. I haven't spent any money yet; I just have lots of free time. I'll probably spend some soon to take my chances with the Chests.
Most importantly, I was lucky enough to receive two login Shiverhearts. I planned to eventually Perfect evolve the pair, and have so far enhanced one to level 50.
My level 50 Shiverheart has helped me finally get past the last stage of Tintagel and about 13% into Lyonesse. I'm sure I could have gone farther, but I've mostly been farming feeders for it. 608 2* feeders needed for Perfect Tier 2!
I can't say for certain, but I think I would have managed to get this far within a few days even without the Shiverheart. For example, my little 6 MP team let's me farm Father Maleficent for mana potions and feeders, so my cards are growing quickly.
I haven't tried the Arena since I got Shiverheart, so I've had no unfair advantage there. I've definitely been defeated by him plenty of times, though.
Now, I've seen all the confusion and anger that the recent login rewards fiasco has caused, and I'm sympathetic. Even for a Legendary, Shiverheart is definitely over-powered and unbalancing. I'm fine with the big spenders having uber cards since I'll never compete at that level, but it's absurd that free players like myself should have one. I hate cheating because it robs me of the satisfaction of overcoming a challenge, and Shiverheart is so powerful that using him definitely feels like cheating to me. Once he procs, I know I've probably won. Suspense gone. Thrill of victory gone.
However, while I sympathize with the upset players, I also happen to think that it's a bit hypocritical the way that some people (*some* people, not all, and probably not *you*, so chillax) are complaining about Shiverheart, yet are all too happy to enhance and evolve him and use him in their decks. I posted as such and was called a troll for it. Meh.
So, I'm going to stop being a hypocrite myself.
As a show of support for those who spent tremendous amounts of time, effort, and money to earn their Shiverhearts during the Labyrinth of Ice event, I hereby vow to keep Shiverheart out of my deck until such time as this situation is resolved.
I'm at a loss as to how Kabam can devise a solution that will please everyone. I don't know anything about coding, so I can't even speculate as to what they can and can't do. A solution might happen soon, or it may never happen.
And I admit, I'd be perfectly happy either way. I know that big spenders will always rule these freemium games, and I will never be one, so I'm happy to remain outside of the contenders' circle. I'm happy with my evil little Black Knight.
Now, I know that some of you will want to twist my words, or doubt my intentions, or flame me for this, or call me a troll, or whatever. But I know my heart and I'm an honorable man, so believe me when I say that my Shiverheart is staying home until such time as Kabam makes things right.
So, that said, anyone with me on putting their Shiverheart on ice?
