  • Feels like the last straw....

I been playing this game a lil over a week. I truely do enjoy it, as im an advocate of CCG's. However, this new update, although graphically looking nice, might be the last straw for me.

I was able to compete the 1st three days, being that when i started it was a new server. But VERY quickly it has grown a payers server. Dont get me wrong, i understand paying players will have advantages, but with the addition of Winter chest, and it not being accessable to free players, theres no way i can compete now. Almost ALL F2P games have an "earn" option for their payed in-game currency, which HOC does not. At least then i could maybe open one chest with the hopes of bettering my deck. I see no option of a free chest, which you really could have given at least ONE open to all players, free or cashers. Most F2P games add an event that free players can compensate with loyalty and time played, to catch up with to cashers, not here.

Also, i notice a new rewards program has come into play for Kabaam. Yet, HOC is not part of it. Would really help free players out if it were added to the list. Im sure i'll just be flamed as a QQer, considering almost every post i have read on here has come from a casher, not many free players on here putting their 2 cents in, but i would actually like to continue playing. I just dont see it possible at all to continue, as the raitio of timed played/hard work is entirely far too skewed vs cashers, moreso than any F2P game i have ever been part of.

Either way, if i do quit, would like to say i really enjoyed the game. Was alot of fun till i came to this conclusion.

Would also like to add, i was VERY excited when i seen that 2nd chest on the home screen, thinking, GREAT, an event for everyone. Very disheartened to find out it was for cashers only when i opened it.

totally agree i,m a F2P player and enjoy the game and like you say most games give us an option too participate without paying and these mini games don,t i think they should at least give you and option too be able too win pumpkin seeds in the area or something just someway off leeting you have a little go without paying

sad but true words... your QQ'ing is justified, no worries

i've but a few money in the game to be "a bit competitive" (aka top 10-15 competitive) and i'm satisfied...
to reach the top i would have to spend near 10 times what i already gave them and, honestly, i have other priority for my hard earned money

but the game is nice... it's over 2 months that i play it and i still not got bored

I believe the Labyrinth will be F2P. If not that'd not be strategic at all. I do expect the boss to be quite strong and his card very attractive to encourage people to spend though!

            Outraged as well!!!

I am also extremely disappointed at this game. I have been playing for a few weeks now and can tell that kabam's is only coming out with pay to play content and not addressing new content for F2P players at all. I mean you can't even get a 4*, 5* or 6* unless you pay. Every other game out there gives players a chance to earn rare cards, even if it's a small chance. Probably will not be playing this game anymore in the near future.

i feel like the recent change in arena is lean towards giving more opportunity to free players. Now you can get summon stones at as low as 1300 might. For 2000 might, you might even get 2 to 3 stones.

Well you can be outraged, but since you are a freeloader you dont' really have any right to complain about the lack of F2P content... Kabam is not working for free. Their games are designed to make you want to pay. Why would they give their in-game assets for free?

Having said that, they are starting to give some more stuff to players. Look at the Arena. It's easy to reach 1300 Might with a decent free deck and with the tickets as reward you basically get one stone for free if you play it right.

It makes me angry to see how players starts to defend that very high commerical system of kabam. The FREE Player are ALSO a part of your gaming system, means if they all go off, there will just a bunch of pay-players and that Game will be RIP'd. So please think a little bit more before you write, Kabam also need sthe free players, and those ones should also have good reasons to play and enjoy.

Sorry for sounding like that! I'm certainly in favour of less expensive stuff in the game because right now all the content is pretty overpriced. I'd be happy if I got what I have with less money, but that's how the game is and nobody is forcing anyone to spend on the game.

As for F2P content, I think it's pretty decent as of now. The difference with a payer and non-payer is that the former can go higher in the Arena, but that's about it. Clearing the game doesn't give you much compared to someone stuck, so everyone is having more or less the same content wise.
The labyrinth is supposedly here to give more content to everyone... wait & see.

i agree kabam has been good and i,m happy that you can get a summon stone at 1300 might that is easy too reach if played right what we are saying is they don,t even give you a little chance at the mini games i mean come on when they done the harvest area they could have thrown in a few pumpkin seeds just to give the F2P player at least 1 go in it and same goes with the winter chest now

Agreed, this mini-game is a real money sucking game. I got caught with the pumpkin one and spent like 3K gems without realizing it so this time I won't even try once. The cards should be made available through normal summons and an Arena I'm sure.

If you're playing for free, you're not contributing financially to the game, and if you stop playing, how does that effect Kabam from running the game? If you have 100 people that are paying, and 1000 that aren't, what happens financially to Kabam if 1000 people leave? The free player is part of the game, but only as a potential paying customer to Kabam. The hope is that if you're going to spend time and effort in the game, and enjoy the game, you'll spend the money to continue playing or level you cards faster by paying.

Super is exactly right in stating that Kabam is not working for free. Kabam (and any other game developer for that matter) will gear the game towards those that are paying to play it, not those that are free loaders such as myself and many others.

That's not true. First, you can farm the random bosses, so you will eventually have 2x 6*, 2*5*, and 1 4* from that. Basic Summons and farming the fixed bosses can grant you 3* cards, which, when fully evolved will also turn into 4* cards. This allows you to create deck that can compete in the arena at least for the mid-range prices, which sometimes are 4* cards or summoning stones. With the latter you have another (low) chance of getting 4*, 5*, or 6* cards.

Progress in this game is incredibly slow (and boring) after you've hit the road block of 99% in city 5, but it's still progress.
