The Scroll 3: The Cauldron of Dagda

Freed of Balor's threat, Nemain dismantled her outpost and sought to gather with her deadly sisters, Badb the Greyraven, Macha the Slaughter and Anand, the Dark Morrigan*.

Spreaded, they were still weak and could not pose any threat to Camelot or the kingdoms of the North, and each of them had still her own battlefront but, joined together, they could reach immense strike power, enough to reshape Britain!

Ayesha took a moment to look around the forest. She was way dizzy of sunlight, but her nightly eyes were slowly adapting. There were still a few troll spearmen leaving Nemain's abandoned settlement. The valkyrie could see a nice bunch of deers, and went for a nice hunt. She took out Gae Assail and aimed carefully, and the spear reached its target, instantly killing it. A perfect swift death with no pain. Then, the magical weapon returned to her right hand!

She tried to shoot another deer, but the spear burned in her hand and dropped. It seemed to have its own will.

    - "Ouch! That hurts! Right my dear, one is enough for now..."

Then, Gae Assail began spinning on the ground, and finally pointed west, to the land of the worshippers of the great Dagda. As even a Fallen Archoness cannot say "no" to a good roasted stag steak, she had a good meal and some rest.

The people of the Dagda were being besieged by the army of Macha, who wanted to claim and hex the Cauldron to remove her curse, supply and improve the span of her undead forces.

Macha the Slaughter was a pretty succubus Mistress of Necromancers with extreme affinity to fresh flesh, and the ability of shapeshifting into pesky crows, mischievous vampire bats or such nightly creatures. A harsh defeat against Ossion in one of his trips left her body rotting undead and two horrible scars in her once appealing face. Compared with Macha, Nemain was a sweet forest pixie!

Halfway to the Castle of the good Dagda, Gae Assail began to shake at Ayesha's back. A young girl was running towards the stronghold terrified, and fell down.

    - "Why do you hurry like this? Can you guide me to the Castle?"

    - "The beast of decay is coming! That's all over! We must flee and protect the Treasure!"

A huge roar came from the skies, and Ayesha slightly remembered it. Macha had successfully raised the Ygrath from the dead, one of the ancient Dark Dragons! She was a mid-sized horribly poisonous wyvern with two pairs of wings, able to spill burning acid and plague spores, also known as the "Flying Pestilence". Of course, she could only be ridden by undead like Macha, as no living or spirit could withstand her deadly touch!

    - "I see a nice battle coming next, my dear... take me to the Castle, please! I need something kept inside, maybe we can make a good deal... how should I call you?"

    - "Emma, my lady. I am learning magic and potion brewing from the elder shamans of the great Dagda... and you?"

    - "You can call me Vanessa, young apprentice..."

    - "So... my goodness, are you really the Fire Summoner who defeated Balor? I thank the Celestials for finding you, for sure you can get us rid of that rotting witch at last! I think our great sage will grant you whatever you wish for your help, of course!"

They arrived to the besieged castle. An army of trolls, undead haunteds and spearmen were harassing the druids and elders of the Dagda, and a handful of knights commanded by a skilled fighter with the likes of Sir Fergus, a former Captain of Camelot. They were keeping them at bay with ease, until the Ygrath arrived. And, hidden somewhere, Macha the Slaughter herself was watching over the clash!

    ---
*Opposed to the "Light" Morrigan, Sindel Annurasshaidiya. Anand performed a grim ritual long ago, sacrificing her light abilities to raise the strength of her dark side to the uppermost extent.

The Scroll 3: The Cauldron of Dagda (2/3)

The flying Ygrath began blowing acid over the walls trying to make a breach, and supporting her undead mates spreading her plague over the defending soldiers. The healing gift of the Dagda made them very resilient to the beast's poison, but not immune, so they were slowly getting sick and unable to fight back! Sir Fergus seemed the only one still able to run past the venom cloud, dealing tons of damage to the undead...

Ayesha arrived to the fight, and quickly began to slice and flame out the undead spearmen with her whip. She looked up, and thought she could easily outsmart and take down that beast using her wings, but that would spoil her disguise. So she went the fire way, blasting the dragon to draw her out of the defense line. The lower right wing of the Ygrath was damaged by Ayesha, making the beast to land in front of her...

The dragon looked at the valkyrie with her fire eyes, ready to combat. But Ayesha felt something sharp like a stab at her neck, and knelt down. She was harmed, stunned and bleeding... what was that? Then, she could see a weird giant bat hovering over the Ygrath... and soon it got transformed into the dreaded sorceress Macha, riding her undead dragon!

      - "Your blood tastes great, fire witch! Did you like my sweet kiss?"

The beast and her rider took off, ready to ambush again. Ayesha recovered, and her wound stopped bleeding, but she felt some nasty poison inside, nerfing her strength. She was no more able to strike the dragon with a fireball, and had to pick her swords to defend. The beast charged... Ayesha sliced her claw, but her left arm was ripped, making her even more sick. Macha laughed out, and made the dragon to strike another time!

Gae Assail began tickling again. Ayesha grabbed and threw it barely aiming, but the magical weapon doubled its speed in the air and deeply pierced the Ygrath's chest! The witch screamed and fell off her mount, both crashing hardly into the ground. Emma tried to aid Ayesha with some healing herbs, making her to regain consciousness, while Macha was still trying to stand up. The valkyrie stood up first, and took Emma back with the defending knights, as the undead were approaching again...

Sir Fergus looked at the beast down, and the shining spear stuck at her chest. He tried to grab it, but the weapon refused his touch, burning him. Then, it went back to Ayesha's hand. The knight got somehow upset, but he had to forget about it for now, as the undead spearmen were still shooting down his soldiers! He had to join again his army against them, leaving the rotting sorceress for the dark valkyrie.

The sickness was getting worse, and Macha was trying to get advantage of it. Her blows were ripping through, and even Ayesha's eyes were fooling her... she was seeing Akkurnas slicing her with his sacred sword, Balor staring at her with his dreaded eye, and even the Gattkarr clutching her with his eight hellish claws altogether! But she had still some strength inside...

      - "Noooo!"

The knights freed young Emma of undead threats and she shouted loudly, cracking a flask with some water from the Cauldron over Macha's already scarred face! The witch howled, and Ayesha got her sight back for a moment. She grew a powerful and shiny fire elemental into her left hand and stomped it at her foe, strongly burning and pushing her back. Then, she crawled dizzily towards the undead one, using her sword as a cane. The putrid necromancer was completely down, and Ayesha was trying to use her last energies to finish her...

The harmed Ygrath got up seeing Ayesha about to behead the witch, and hardly smacked the warrior with her tail to protect her. Then, the wyvern grabbed Macha and fleed away. The blow and the plague finally knocked Ayesha out.

Sir Fergus and his knights managed to clear the siege at last, and all the fighters entered the Castle. Emma rushed to help Ayesha, but the plague was already draining her life. It was only a matter of time...

The Scroll 3: The Cauldron of Dagda (3/3)

The great Dagda dripped some water from his Cauldron over the face of Ayesha, hoping it would restore her, but the good sage did not know about her dark nature...

        - "My lord... is it not working? Is she already dead? No, please!"

        - "Sorry... sadly it seems she is out of this world now, my dear Emma. She has saved us from the undead monsters with her life, and we must honor her as a hero, but... it's so strange..."

        - "What, my lord?"

        - "I cannot feel any Death Spirit around her... I can see them whenever they come to claim a soul, but not this time..."

Suddenly, Ayesha opened her eyes and caught her breath. Then, she took a goblet full of the Cauldron's water, and she slowly felt her wounds being seared and healed.

        - "My... Where's the witch? What has happened? I felt Death surrounding me... how is it possible?"

        - "Our water and your good will can do wonders, my friend. I will gladly give you all the water you need, as you freed us from Macha's minions, maybe forever!"

        - "But... your water does not... well..."

The valkyrie knew the Cauldron's power was not really suitable for dark beings like her unless blighted by an undead like Macha, but surprisingly it had worked...

        - "Have a rest, my dear, and you can resume your trip tomorrow. We can hold the troops of Nemain easily if we meet her, she is not half as powerful as her defeated sister, you know..."

The elders gave Ayesha a flask with the blessed water, which also could enable her to open the path of the Scroll. She stayed for a rest, thinking about herself and the real nature of her curse. Why was she allowed to wield a mostly Light weapon like Gae Assail, and why had the holy water been able to heal her...?

Next morning, the fire warrior took her weapons and continued heading west for Badb's wastelands. The kind Emma wanted to go with her, but Ayesha refused, as the trip was extremely dangerous for an apprentice Shaman like her. Maybe the Fallen Archoness was beginning to care for others...

        ---

A hooded man entered quietly inside Macha' stronghold. She was almost dead, trying to recover from her defeat. The wyvern rushed to defend her against the stranger but, in a glimpse, her head was rolling, and she was torn into ashes. He took off his hood in front of Macha, and he looked like Sir Fergus.

        - "What...? How did you... come so far...?"

        - "I have my means, piece of scum. You have failed, but... what to expect from demons, undead or necromancers? You evil and unworthy wimps are tainting and plaguing our glorious Creation! Pity Ossion did not finish you so long ago, mummy witch!"

        - "What... the hell... are you?"

        - "Call me "Justice". The one who will make you eagering to die, fiend!"

The knight pulled out a beautiful shining white fireball and dropped it over the weakened Macha. She began screaming like a beast, wrapped in the sacred flames. After a long agony, he slowly pushed a flaming sword through her chest for a painful kill. Then, he left the outpost and watched Nemain's troops getting closer. A grim smile crossed his face...

        - "Come here, you hag... cry over your sister's ashes and then lead me to the Greyraven! I will slay all of you, damned witches of the Danann... and then, that fallen one seeking for the Scroll will taste my godly sword! Behold the might of Eladriel!"

The Scroll 4: The Stone of Fal (1/4)

Nemain arrived the lair of Badb the Greyraven just in time, as it was strongly harassed by the Wandering Paladins, a brotherhood of merciless bounty hunters rejected long ago from the order of the Paladins of Camelot. Her troops were able to reinforce the defense and take the siege back for a while.

Badb was a Dark Druid, very alike the ones in the Nightwrath clan. She mastered the combat art of the Shadow and, like Merla, she was completely unable to sleep on her own and relied on potions to rest. She shared her ability to shapeshift into crows or ravens but, unlike Macha, she refused to handle the magic of the undead.

            - "You are always welcome, my dear... Sorry about Nuada's loss but, at least, you were able to get us rid of the dreaded Balor... we are under attack, and maybe this stronghold won't last any more... That paladins were being not a serious threat, until their new captain arrived. I have never seen a warrior like him! His golden blade is swift and sharp, no hex can harm him, and the strength of his Light can outshine an angel!"

            - "I still have the sword, but I cannot use it properly. And I was not the one who killed Balor... Ayesha the Fallen, disguised as a fire sorceress, slayed him and then entered that sealed cave you know to search for something inside... if she is collecting magical objects for any reason, maybe she is already on her way here for the Stone of Fal!"

            - "Maybe we can lure her somehow to deal with the besiegers. I think she hates Paladins or Angels as bitterly as us, my sister. Perhaps we can offer her a piece of that Stone as a reward for her duty..."

            - "I strongly advice you not to make any deal with her, Badb... don't count me in! I will flee to meet Anand if you insist in bringing that damned Ayesha here!"

            - "As you wish, Nemain... pity the loss of Nuada made you so weak... go shelter under the wings of the Morrigan, I will handle her myself!"

            - "Good luck, my dear... hope you won't get the same fate as our dead Macha..."

            - "Is Macha dead?! Who has done it?"

            - "When I reached her stronghold, I only was able to see a bunch of bones and ashes. I think it was the very same fallen one you are thinking about to make a deal with..."

            - "Nooo! My dear... now, you must really go find Anand! If these paladins fail to crush Ayesha, I swear we Sisters of Danu will eat her raw heart! Revenge!"

Ayesha arrived at last to the wall of Garen, ruled now by the Wanderers. There were a bunch of Paladins fighting some berserker trolls and their boss, a weird goblin witch doctor named Knoth.

            - "May you bear us a hand against these dark wimps? You seem a worthy warrior, my lady..."

            - "You fight so well, knights... why does a sweet girl like me have to help the mighty paladins to slay a little bunch of trolls?"

Knoth laughed out hearing Ayesha and hurled a nasty slime ball to the paladins, ensnaring them. Then, he began healing one of his wounded warriors, while the others charged against the nerfed soldiers! But a huge fireball blasted the ground, dropping them all. It was not strong enough to kill any of them, but the goblin and his party fleed away with fear.

            - "Lousy warriors of Light... who is your leader, wimps? Who should I tell you were not able to crush a few trolls? I am looking for Badb, she still holds something I wish..."

            - "Ahh... you must be the fire witch who defeated Balor, great to meet you... These trolls come from that Badb's castle north we are besieging. We were almost successful, but that dreaded Nemain reinforced it just in time, delaying us so much. Our Captain, Sir Taron Alzannur, would be so glad to meet you..."

Ayesha turned her face hearing that kinda bloated name, and followed the warriors inside the Garen fortress. She thought she could be wasting her time meeting him:

            - "Great... Another proud and selfish godly light savior of the universe taking a celestial crappy name... My goodness, I really hate this kind of losers!"

In the main hall, beside the keeper of the castle, a former captain of the King's Guard called Sylvia, there was the man. Extremely handsome, long blonde hair, a strong body wrapped inside a golden, silver and iron armor, and a huge double-edged sword with a charming golden grip engraved with gems. He only was a few pairs of wings away from being an angel!

Ayesha remembered Lugh's advice at the exit of the cave... "The angel of death is now following your steps..." Maybe she had to keep a distance from that shining guy!

The Scroll 4: The Stone of Fal (2/4)

              - "Nice outfit, my lord... but a good armor does not make a warrior, sir... do you need help? Maybe we can make an agreement. I only want a piece of the treasure held inside that castle, you can take all of the spoils of war yourself if you like!"

              - "We don't need any help from witches or summoners... I wish I had lived in the glorious King Uther's era, slaying you coward evil magic wielders... get out of my sight!"

She flamed up her left hand, pointing to the "slimed" fighters...

              - "I just had to save your awesome Light warriors from a little bunch of trolls and a pesky goblin mage, your Greatness... how does it feel?"

The fighters looked at their boss, completely ashamed. He stood up and raged to them!

              - "What?! She's right, huh? What a mess... Go back to the camp, six straight hours of sword training! And have a bath first, you stink like damn goblin hog riders!"

Ayesha laughed out seeing the faces of the humiliated soldiers. The leader stared at her, and ducked his head. She was even able to feel the strength of his holy aura.

              - "Well... I think we have underestimated this Badb and her swift goblin army... please help us, fire sorceress. You can have anything you wish from the bounty!"

              - "I have already stated what I want. And please keep apart, sir... your pretentious shining armor suit hurts my eyes!"

She could hide her feelings behind her rants, but she was really scared of that Sir Taron. In any moment, he could drop off his paladin disguise and split her in half with some Archon-made broad sword! Without the power of the Scroll, Ayesha had no way to stand against a major Light spirit like Eladriel...

Sir Taron was preparing his knights for the final strike, while Ayesha was waiting for him to give the order. She took out Gae Assail, slowly crossing its engravings with her fingers. Sylvia came closer to her.

              - "A pretty spear... Please do not take him too seriously, my friend. He is way angry about the loss of the Stone of Fal, our greatest treasure. Badb claimed it and now stores it inside her stronghold, as it was originally from the people of the Danann, but Sir Taron thinks such a sacred stone of Light should not be wasted in the claws of those dark creatures."

              - "Light and darkness, light and darkness... I am getting so tired about them both, and maybe Badb knows better how to really handle the Stone than that mighty paladins, angels or whatsoever! By the way, do you really know its true properties?"

              - "Healing and relieving, and maybe something handful for diviners. Some Druid sage told me the Stone of Fal reflects the true bright of your spirit, regardless of your nature. It can become a shining white light for the ones with kindness and good will in their heart, a red flare for the passionate ones who only seek their freedom and wishes, a beautiful green spark for the warm, caring and abnegated ones, and a grim dark violet aura for the ones with a proud, evil and rotten soul! The Stone of Fal can only be splitted or shared by one of the Sisters of Danu, and seems unbreakable for anybody else!"

The Wanderers led by Sir Taron, Sylvia and Ayesha arrived the enemy fortress for the last battle. It was surrounded by a dense fog, maybe summoned by Badb herself to protect her weaker but more numerous troops. Troll spearmen, archers, footmen and many goblin stalkers were backed by huge and strong green berserkers wrapping their leader, the Greyraven.

The Scroll 4: The Stone of Fal (3/4)

The first wave of the paladins charged against the trolls. Badb was waiting calmly... and, when the troops got inside the fog, she raised her hands... a little swarm of winged goblins carrying fireballs went out of the fortress, and began hardly striking the paladins from the air!

                - "She seems a worthy foe, my lord... How are you going to handle that little flying chariots? May your mighty Light is able to summon Hope and a few of her Flametruth Avengers? Goodness..."

                - "Shut up, you... I won't let my glorious army to get defeated by a crappy bunch of small dark minions... Knights, ready to charge all in!"

Sylvia looked at Sir Taron worried. He was too angry to reason, only eagering to trample over everything between him and the Stone...

                - "See, my lord... some fog spell, holding her position with some surprise attacks... that Badb is only trying to defend her outpost from your raging wrath, sir! May we stop this worthless onslaught and make a deal while we can?"

                - "I never take back, my lady. The Sacred Stone will be ours again, and Light will prevail!"

The first wave was completely out, and the rest of the soldiers attacked. The chariots fleed back to reload so there was no air support for the moment, but the ranged trolls and goblins were still able to deliver pain from a distance! Ayesha and Sylvia picked out their swords and borrowed a pair of Paladin shields to protect from the rain of goblin arrows, but Sir Taron's armor suit was strong enough to break them...

                - "Watch out! The fire mosquitoes are coming again!"

The fog was blocking the air sight, so it was too hard to avoid the flaming balls... Ayesha had to do something about it, but maybe it was a bit risky.

                - "Craps... hope that bloated wingless angel does not see me doing this!"

She flew up under the veil of the fog, and flamed it from above to clear the sky. Then, she quickly landed to avoid being spotted in the air. Only one was able to see her fallen angel wings... the witch doctor, Knoth, who smiled like a greedy demon and rushed straight to battle her! His wooden scepter caught Ayesha unguarded, hitting her like a truck. One of the paladins had to back her against the raging goblin!

                - "Aargg... What was... you? Impossible... only a mighty warrior can... strike like this..."

                - "...and only an Angel can fall down from so high, my lady... Die, please!"

Knoth attacked again, but the scepter was stopped by the sword of the paladin in a fierce clash. The goblin refused to confront the paladin. Ayesha recovered, but the blow was still unusually painful for her, even more than Gwar's punches!

                - "Too crowded battle for me, my dear. We will meet soon... farewell!"

Knoth seemed to drop some potion, covering him with mist. He disappeared, and two berserkers took his place to fight! But Ayesha was still stronger than them, even wounded. So strange... she was able to beat a giant troll without a single sweat drop, but a little goblin stomped her with a mere wooden stick!

The troll frontline was almost decimated by the paladins, so the berserkers and Badb herself got into the fight. Her enchanted Druid arrows were able to magically pierce through the armors, but she was not shooting to kill, and Ayesha noticed it... Although uncovered by the fog this time, the chariots dropped their fire again, and many of the troops were splashed with it!

                - "Ouch! I would like to hire a pair of these flying goblins... Sylvia? Are you... Sirs, they have hit her! Rush!"

One of the remaining soldiers took Sylvia out of the battlefield. She had one of Badb's arrows stuck into her leg, and was knocked down by a fireball, but it seemed not fatal. Only Ayesha, Sir Taron and three of his paladins were still able to fight against the pretty Badb and her berserkers.

The Greyraven stared at Ayesha's eyes and whispered into her mind...

                - "Why are you fighting us people of Danann, fallen one? We have nothing against paladins, angels, demons or undead, we just want to keep our legacy... and you have burned our ancient sister Macha into ashes, just for being different! I swear that one will be your last kill amongst us, you assassin!"

                - "No way... she was harassing the brethren of the Dagda for her own sake, and so I was asked to defeat her for a fair price... You can call me assassin, but I really did not know about her death!"

Sir Taron ambushed Badb with his golden sword, making her to quickly drop her bow to avoid the strike. She knew Ayesha was true, as the Fallen Archoness would have never lied about making some kill or not. And she realized there were some other powers interested in taking the Sisters out of the match...

One of the troll berserkers hardly pushed Ayesha to the ground. Meanwhile, the sword of the Captain was trying to finish Badb with no success, but she also was not able to fight him back with her charms. The dark druid picked out a weak sword just to block some blows, but Sir Taron was owning the game... soon, Ayesha watched the lady of the Danann falling to the bloody sword of the paladin...

Badb was too harmed by the merciless captain to continue fighting, and fleed inside the fortress. The paladins were about to pursue her inside, but Ayesha stopped them, as she needed her alive to pick the piece of the Stone:

                - "Hold your wrath for a while, knights. I need her to find what I need, then I will let you in to finish the job if you like!"

The Scroll 4: The Stone of Fal (4/4)

Knoth's hard blow was still hurting Ayesha while she entered the hall, making her to slightly limp, but Badb was way more damaged than her. She was barely able to walk, trying to hide in some secret room full of healing potions or such...

                  - "Well, my pretty nightly bird... you seem so wounded, huh? Pity I am not a light healer anymore, just a dark fire slayer, my friend. There are no more of those hatred paladins here, just you and me. I could slay you now with ease, but I need a piece of the Stone, and only one from the Danann can get it for me, so... take it, and I will let you escape alive from their rage!"

                  - "Seems fair... and there is... no other option... for me, right?"

The harmed one crawled to the back door of the main room, and scratched it before falling down exhausted. Ayesha had to pick her up and open the door. There was a great rock with some green sparkles in the middle, pointing to the ceiling of the place. The mighty Stone of Fal.

                  - "Here it is... Just a little piece should be enough!"

Badb carved a small piece of the stone with a small chisel and grabbed it with her left hand. It acquired a pretty red shining.

                  - "Take it, fallen one... and remember... your promise..."

Ayesha took the stone from her hand, and it became bright like a very diamond! She pocketed it while Badb was staring at her with surprise...

                  - "How... can it be... Who... are... you?"

Badb finally collapsed, and got unconscious. Ayesha took her back to the main hall, and tainted a sword with some of her blood. Then, she got outside to meet the paladins again, showing the bloodstained weapon to their leader.

                  - "My Captain, that crow hag refused to cooperate, and so I had to behead her. We will never have to care about her again, but I think her trolls will rage now, so it's better to retreat until they disperse!"

                  - "Right, no need to risk our soldiers against them anymore. Back to the castle! Victory!"

The Wanderers got back to the castle of Garen, hoping the leaderless trolls would break their army soon. Then, the few remaining guards, with the little Knoth, entered the hall. He picked up her harmed lady, pouring her with some scents. Badb awakened, extremely weak.

                  - "You... survived! We must... leave this lands... while we can, or... they will return... Anand..."

Knoth calmly sealed her wounds with a weird kind of herb mixture, and made her to drink some potions. She began falling asleep.

                  - "Relax, my dear... your pain will end soon, just lay down and have sweet dreams..."

Then, the witch doctor silently went out of the room to meet the troll guards.

                  - "Please do not disturb our lady, she is so tired... It will last for a moment only, she just needs to rest..."

The guards let him exit the lair. Once out, an evil smile crossed his face, and he began laughing out... Then, a great scream flooded the castle. Badb's scream of death!

                  - "To rest... in peace! Ooops... maybe too many druantia scent? or maybe that pesky Ygrath's ashes I had mixed in? Too bad, it seemed a delicious recipe!"

The betrayed trolls of Badb surrounded Knoth, who was still laughing at them like mad. They charged fiercely against him... but the killer Archangel Eladriel got back his real self and carnaged all of them in his trademark fashion!

                  - "At last, a nice slaughter! Damn, I really was missing it... Well, one more down, two more to go! Hope that eerie winged demon named Anand will be a way worthier foe than these fool weaklings!"

                    The Mystic Stallion (1/2)

The vampire realm suffered a harsh strike with the defeat of Amelia... although the deadly Amaranthine was moving fast, Chastity Ann Mary, the Lady of the Moon, was able to gather a strong defense force inside her Castle, able to withstand the possible Queen's assault for a while. So, Sir Valamir was free to get a short trip to the lands of the Hellsgate, to collect supplies he needed for his undead-cracking potions...

However, a nasty force was growing stronger at the burning lands of the volcano... the blighted Fire Witch, Xydannari, formerly known as Chandra, with her slave succubi and hounds, was slaying the Mystic Stallions to reap their flaming power, seeking revenge upon the Fire Lord Balzathor!

The Stallions were a majestic breed of war horses magically imbued with Hellfire, grown up by War to be the mounts of his army. But only one of them abided him and so became his loyal horse, Hellblazer. The rest of them, led by Nightmare, rejected to serve War and his minions. The horseman could force and enslave them, but it would be against his honor, so he left them free...

The Night Knight arrived the boiling lands to watch a hard fight. Some kind of undead knight, armed with a thin cleaver, was battling three fire hounds and avoiding the strikes of a pretty winged succubus... behind him, there was a huge black horse laying, seemingly wounded.

                    - "What's up? Four versus one seems unfair, my lady..."

                    - "No time to lose with you, dried corpses... We need the power of the Stallions, get out of my sight!"

                    - "Nah... I hate damned succubi to death, and I always will hate them... May I help you, man?"

                    - "Ah, nice... I was getting tired of these hounds, Sir...?"

Valamir picked out his sword and began slicing the hot dogs. The knight was able to split one of them at last, and the vampire beheaded another one. The dog left ran behind his lady...

                    - "I will be back, you rotten undead... Nothing can oppose us!"

They fleed away, heading east. The knight went back to care for the wounded horse.

                    - "Nice animal, sir. Is it one of the Stallions? I have never seen one of them..."

                    - "Yes, my lord... sadly, this is the last female one alive, Naariya. They used to allow me some rides, until those creepy succubi began exterminating them. Except the greatest one, Nightmare... now I know why even War was unable to tame that stubborn beast!"

Sir Valamir approached the wounded mare, and used some of his herbs and pots to heal and calm her pain. She was relieved, and soon could stand up.

                    - "Oh... thank you, sir. She looks way better, and trusts on you, which is so hard to achieve. I am the former Sir Balin, the Skull Carver, the lord of the Swamp of the Lich, you know... and you?"

                    - "I am Valamir, a vampire necromancer paladin seeking for something good to face a dreaded sorceress vampire queen..."

Both laughed out loud, and then they headed to the swamp. Balin took some meat from the hounds to eat.

                    - "I still need to feed, my undead friend... may I get you a piece?"

                    - "No, please... it's already so hard to withstand this horrible thirst, Sir Balin... even the blood of a pesky hellhound would spoil my sanity!"

The knights arrived Balin's lair inside the swamp, to pick some pots and supplies.

                    - "I think they have captured Nightmare while I was battling that harpy and her hounds, Sir Valamir. We must rescue him before their boss is able to finish her ritual!"

                    - "Which ritual? What are you talking about?"

                    - "Every Necro should have a spellbook, my friend... remember about Balzathor and Chandra?"

Ossion wrote something about them in his Noctum, but Sir Valamir could not recall it. He picked it out and searched for the page...

                    - "So long ago, Chandra, the Daughter of the Fire, battled the mighty Lord Balzathor who was harassing her brethren, as the Fire Summoners were a severe threat for him... she was killed by the demon, but her rage blighted her into a hellfire draining beast. She changed her name to Xydannari, the Dark Flame, and committed her undeath to gather enough power to crush Balzathor and send him to burn and decay in Hell forever..."

They went out, heading for the witch's lair. But they did not know where it was exactly, so they took one of the succubi as prisoner to draw out it from her... Valamir still had some knight manners, but Balin was a master of torture and butchery, so she could not resist his "charm"... and, eventually, they arrived to the place...

Twelve of the hell ladies were shaping a circle. Inside it, the flaming horse, trying to survive. And the corrupted Flame Witch, Xydannari. Although fairly attractive like her slaves, she had no succubi wings. Her skin was burning red like a fire demon, and she had a bunch of whirling flames instead of hair. Her body was draining Nightmare's flames, slowly withering him to death...

                      The Mystic Stallion (2/2)

Suddenly, a chilling blast knocked out two of the harpies, breaking their perfect setup. The rest of them raged and attacked the undead knights!

                      - "Nice Freezers, my friend... lend me a pair of them to cool that witch down!"

Sir Valamir gave Balin a pair of the ice blasting potions, just before the flying charge of the succubi. The Carver was dropped and harmed, but he was able to grab one of the pesky harpies, mercilessly biting and chopping her neck, like a hungry zombie!

                      - "Hey, these winged ones are delicious! Do it, you vampire! You will enjoy their blood!"

                      - "Maybe they deserve it, but I am still a Knight, my grim friend... I prefer letting my sword do the job! Watch out, she is coming!"

Seeing her slaves falling down, the witch forgot about the horse and headed straight against the Knights, blowing fire like a flamethrower! Valamir dropped to avoid the massive fire shot, and Balin used one of the succubi as a shield, painly melting down her. The remaining "not-so-loyal" servants left the witch alone to protect their lives from the blades (and jaws) of the undead knights...

                      - "So hard to find good fighters in these lands... damn you!"

Again, she blew her flames over the warriors. They could not approach so much that sexy version of Valrakk without becoming undead ashes...

                      - "Craps! I would love to have her inside my cold hut in winter... well, she is way hot!"

                      - "Wait... stop joking and try crashing a pot into her face!"

Valamir picked his sword and tried to duel the pretty torch... she also had a sword ready and began clashing, but the vampire was being severely burned out and could not fight as always... meanwhile, the horse was recovering and saw Valamir struggling to save him from the witch...

                      - "Aarghhh!!! That's like fighting the damned Fireborn! Throw them, quick! I will resist, do it!"

Balin cracked the two potion flasks on the puny Valamir. Both of them chilled and dropped... the witch was stunned and slowly recovering, but the vampire could not move. As the flames dimmed, Balin could get closer. He picked out one of Valamir's flasks from his almost frozen bag and clutched the neck of the witch...

                      - "The house special, my dear. Stay cool!"

The Skull Carver forced her to swallow the icy potion inside the flask without thinking it twice. She tried to scream, but her throat was already chilled. And then, she completely became an ice statue. A real piece of art. But Balin was not really an art lover, and cracked her with a huge butt from his head!

Nightmare was free to get closer to help Valamir. The horse was getting back his strength, and his heat was slowly melting Valamir's ice. Soon the pot effect was removed, and the vampire was safe but exhausted.

                      - "You both look awful, friends... Come home and have some rest! That's over!"

Balin, Valamir and Nightmare got back to the swamp. The Night Knight had to remove a few leeches from the dark horse, but his wounds were almost healed. He was ready to break free again... but he stayed instead, staring at Sir Valamir.

                      - "Hey, go away! You are free, nuts! I have nothing to offer you!"

But the stallion ducked his head. He was asking Valamir to ride on...

                      - "I think you have a new partner, Sir... he does not want to stay here with me in this eerie swamp, but to go fighting with you, Knight! Ride him and go, Sir Valamir... or I will kick your a s s out of this place, I swear it!"

So, fearing Sir Balin's foot stomping his bottom, Valamir sat it on the flaming Nightmare and rode back home. The Skull Carver stayed in the swamp, proud of saving the horse and letting him to start a new thrilling life beside the Night Knight... but maybe Sir Balin still wanted to have a short ride on him!

Blighted Camelot 2: Haniel the Serene (1/4)

Rhiannon was back... and the very Hell quaked with the rage of the defeated Gattkarr. The rabid beast, in its fearsome original shape, grabbed the most unlucky bypassing demon in history, and shredded it painfully with his chainsaw countless teeth! Everything around him fleed terrified, as the eternal punishment in flames seemed way more enjoyable than even a few seconds beside that monster.

Then, he looked up at the red flaming skies with his scarred third eye of despair. The demon was remembering the past, when he was almost able to conquer Heavens and enslave that pesky Archons forever. When only the courage and will of a girl was able to throw him back into the Fire...

                        So long ago...

The rejected Mephisto was preparing his ascension with a new batch of powerful dark beings, the Defilers. As Heavens were so strong for him to directly confront, his strategic approach was to draw as many Angels as possible to his evil side. As Aida's will was so weakened with her recent Darael and Yzabel's losses, it was a great chance to attack her homeland!

"Meph" could not trust on Yzabel, he felt she could serve him better as a free bird, and he was proven right. So, the stolen Sacred Fire gave birth to Belial, Lyssandra and the Gattkarr...

Belial was a psychotic and selfish incubus with great built-in shapeshifting and tempting abilities, Lyssandra was an horrific chimera with great mindwipe skills and unholy combat strength, and the Gattkarr was the most powerful of them, maybe the most overwhelming demon ever created... even the Fire was so dimmed and nearly extinguished after bringing him alive!

The young Defilers soon got self-aware and joined their forces... but demons are way unpredictable and "Meph" knew it best, so he prevented them trampling over his rule by fooling them into one of the Wraith-kin Matron's portals to the Earth realm...

                        - "Bring me the heads of both Archons... or way better, make them to praise you forever! Slay anyone opposing Darkness! Bring them all to doom!"

                        - "As you wish, Father... your darkest day has come!"

Of course, a Gattkarr ruling over Heavens would mean Mephisto's butt kicked out from his hellish throne soon, but he did not even mind about. Good old "Meph" only wanted Chaos for the sake of Chaos!

The three demons appeared on a high cliff beside the great Shadow Peak, in front of a sort of deep cave. A strong spell disguised their devil shapes to make their job easier.

Belial still looked like a psycho, but a wealthy and refined one, dressed with pretty and expensive silk and tons of jewels. Lyssandra looked as a way beautified version of Xaydia, grim but astoundingly charming... and the Gattkarr resembled a strong and weirdly handsome three-eyed warrior, wearing a fire red armor suit.

                        - "What are we doing in these cold lands, my lord? Too far away from the gate of Heavens, isn't it?"

                        - "Of course, but... feel free to fly over the whole damned sky if you like to, Belial..."

                        - "We dark beings cannot find it, stupid! We need to claim the Skyborn inside to lure it to Heavens, and it will be a nice training for you both, my warriors... go in, and never dare to return without the bird!"

Belial and Lyse entered the frozen cave of the mighty Skyborn. The bluish ice phoenix was asleep in the middle of the hall.

                        - "I seem more like an angel than you, my lady... a very rich angel, but it should be enough... attack me!"

                        - "What the...?"

The witch hurled Belial a huge fireball, trampling over him and awakening the bird! The Skyborn was fooled to help the attacked "angel", and chilled Lyssandra out with a huge ice elemental!

                        - "I... hate... you... bastard..."

                        - "Sorry, my dearest lady... And follow us!"

Belial pretended to be a hardly wounded angel, so the bird would carry him over to Heaven... and soon, Belial was flying over the phoenix! The Gattkarr smiled and entered the cave, laughing out at the frozen Lyse...

                        - "That pesky trickster fooled you, huh? Well, come on, at least he was successful!"

The demon melted the ice with a huge flame, in a way not really as kind as a lady would deserve... Then, Lyse unleashed a pair of succubus wings and picked him up. They followed the phoenix carrying Belial to the very celestial gates!

The Skyborn left Belial near Raziel's door, and the others waited until the phoenix fleed back to avoid alerting him. Then, they rejoined and walked towards the huge gate.

The guard, Raziel the Keeper, was looking at them with distrust...

                          - "What are you doing here, strangers? Dark beings like you are prevented to find these gates, but surprisingly you are here... so, tell me!"

                          - "My keeper lord, we are the exiled, rejected from the lands of Chaos... just for trying to bring peace between us and the Light, our Father took merciless revenge upon us and our brethren, killing almost every one of us! We three survived and could flee away from his wrath... now he has earned our hate... peace is impossible while Mephisto is ruling over his evil throne of fire!"

Belial almost laughed out hearing that huge stream of lies, but his fear of the boss was way stronger than his madness, so he stayed steady... the Gattkarr was trying to bring the keeper to his side, while Raziel began staring at his eye of despair...

                          - "So... you are seeking... what? Revenge? That's not our business... but... maybe..."

                          - "My lord, he has been weakened by our battle... it's the best chance to get rid of him and have our desired peace at last! Please let us in and share our plans!"

                          - "Well... I think it would not harm to let a few demons in... if it's for good... you may pass!"

The three Defilers passed the gate, and began walking around, drawing the attention of the soldiers in the place. They first thought about attacking them all, but... for some reason Raziel allowed them in, so they felt intrigued. Soon, they got surrounded by a good number of angels... and the Gattkarr was ready to spread his taint over them!

                          - "Warriors of Light! Maybe we may look as your enemies, but we can join our forces! The Father of Chaos, our supposed master and leader, had just thrown us with many of our warriors away like garbage, betraying and nearly killing us all! Even for us dark demons, that's a shame! That Mephisto is the only obstacle left between us and peace, and it must be removed!"

The angel soldiers were being charmed with that words, and many of them seriously began to think about it... But one of them, Haniel, stood and strongly disagreed with that rant...

                          - "No way, sir. Revenge made us to lose many great souls to darkness... I would gladly risk my life to defend us, but never in such kind of invasion!"

But many of her mates and most of the Flametruth Avengers joined the three exiled ones. The temptation was great, light and darkness powers united to defeat Chaos forever! The group marched to the Throne Hall, but Haniel rushed first to prevent the Archons, as it seemed something had gone wrong... Belial was about to flame her out before reaching the hall, but the boss did not allow the madman to spoil his plot!

Both Archons and eight of their closest Archangels, including Hope, Ybreel and Zadkiel, came out from the hall with a party of soldiers to meet the exiled ones. The demons' frontline of angels were kind of absent... like zombies eagering for war!

                          - "Greetings, our lady Aida... we are the exiled, the rejected child of your nemesis Mephisto, and we all share our hate against him... the day of judgment is now! May the justice of Light prevail!"

Blighted Camelot 2: Haniel the Serene (3/4)

The three-eyed boss was staring at the Archoness with an evil smile... she began thinking it was a great chance for peace, but.. was it right? really a Light warrior could be moved by hate?... But Haniel stood in front and defied the demon, grabbing her sword!

                            - "Never, don't trust them! They are trying to lead us astray! We have already lost Ayesha to pride and Yzabel to rage, please no more! They are weaker than us if we keep together, our Greatness!"

But she was already lost into the Gattkarr's eye of despair... Hope and Altair tried to stop her, but Aida flew over to join the opposing forces!

                            - "Join us, my child. This will be our last battle... our power will extinguish that dreaded Hellsgate forever!"

Lyssandra got closer to Haniel, trying to calm her down and earn her trust. The angel soldier looked at her mild face, and seemed to agree. The Gattkarr smiled avidly, but...

                            - "For the Light!"

Surprisingly, Haniel stood and hardly crashed her sword's grip onto Lyssandra's face! Then, the angel soldier took back to defend, but the demons were so upset to react! Specially the boss, who went berserk seeing the knocked-out Lyse losing her disguise spell! Thus, the remaining angels would be extremely hard for him to tame after seeing her true shape!

                            - "Damn you, I will eat your stubborn heart! Charge all!"

A few of the fallen angels got awakened and tried to defend Haniel from the rest, but the possessed Archoness took care of them while the Gattkarr was also shaping back, as he had nothing to hide now. Belial was "smarter", and joined the frontline of attackers just to allow him some time to transform into one of them and scoot away unspotted!

Without time to think about Belial's chicken move, Lyssandra and her boss were having a great slamfest... the hexed angels were drawing all the attention of the soldiers, while the demons were slicing through. But the Gattkarr was mercilessly seeking for his prey, that little Haniel who could resist his evil! She was fighting bravely and, unexpectedly, his zombie angels were holding their strength against her, and even the Archoness seemed unable to stop her...

And, at last, he got his target. A great hellfire blow from the beast obliterated Haniel while she was helping a wounded soldier. And then, he pierced her with one of his deadly back stings, lifting her as a dummy...

                            - "Now you know how it feels to oppose me, wimp!"

                            - "Yes... and... it feels... great! You may kill me... but... you won't ever shade... our Light!"

Haniel threw her sword at Lyssandra, nailing it and allowing precious seconds for her mates to regroup and attack her again. Then, she finally expired...

All the fallen angels stopped for a while, and even Aida looked up at Haniel's body hanging on the sting. Altair and Ybreel spotted a weakness and also rushed into battle! The Archon's warcry also awakened many of the Flametruth Avengers from the spell... the Gattkarr tried to strenghten his power over Aida and his remaining fallens, but Lyssandra began getting so scared, seeing the army of Heavens charging against them!

Blighted Camelot 2: Haniel the Serene (4/4)

The raging spearmen pierced out Lyssandra with anger, and the Avengers greatly harmed her with their sacred flaming swords... the Gattkarr watched his wicked lady burned out and falling down the skies, just before getting his third eye destroyed by a pair of arrows!

The beast screamed and dropped Haniel's body, while trying to keep the angels away with strong but random claw slashes and his hellfire breath... but Haniel's noble death also began awakening the fallen angel soldiers from the evil charm! They began slowly joining back the heavenly forces and spamming punishment over the Gattkarr...

Altair and Ybreel were strongly pushing the cursed Aida back... she was weakening and was not so able to hold them. Maybe she was also getting rid of the corrupt spell, but the fiend was focusing only to keep her under control, while the angel swarm was harassing him...

Ybreel hardly sliced his Archoness with his twin swords, regretting it so much... but that allowed Altair to get past her, piercing the Light through the monster! That was for the final blow...

                              - "Aaaargh!!! Gaa... to hell... with you!"

The Gattkarr used his last breath to strike the three majors, nearly splitting Aida in half. The holy flames consumed him, and soon the Death Spirits appeared, surrounding the demon...

                              - "Better said, to Hell with YOU, sir... my reaper gonna enjoy your pain so much, Lord Gattkarr! Rest in pieces!"

Gaznar Soulripper and his troops began performing a grim dance around the spirit shape of the beast with their scythes... many angels looked away to avoid seeing the carnage, until the demon was completely chopped off and his dreaded soul was imprisoned into Hell. The nightmare was over!

Many fighters were lost in the battle, and their souls shall be honoured in a higher realm than Heavens, but there was one deserving a very special place. Haniel, the one who first stood against the Gattkarr, his grim demons and his fallen angels. The one who kept steady even when the very Archoness doubted. The one whose bold sacrifice was the seed of the victory...

Haniel awakened in a strange land. She had no pain and no sorrow. There were fountains dripping holy water in beautiful shapes from nowhere, trees and bushes endless growing fruit with godly look and taste, a fresh breeze and a charming fragrance which could make anybody wishing to stay in that place forever, and a bright sun which did not heat. A hooded one appeared, wearing a full robe with strange white and dark shinings, decorated with pretty scriptures in some unknown language...

                              - "Haniel, my dear... welcome to my true world. This is the end of your journey and the beginning of your life, please come with us..."

                              - "But... I think they still need me, Heavens are under attack!"

                              - "Your courage and your sacrifice made your fellow Angels to strongly defeat the siege, my dear. Never worry about it again, that's not your duty anymore, please trust us..."

                              - "So this place is... what's your name if I may ask?"

                              - "You are the ones having names, we don't need them. Glory awaits you forever, Haniel..."

But she tried to refuse. Maybe she was the first one ever refusing to enter the true Paradise. And the other one noticed it...

                              - "So... we see you are eagering to return, and we will not stop you, my dear. You may get back to Heavens and come here again if you wish, but you will not be allowed into Earth nor fight for any side, as you are now bound to us. That's the only way we will allow you back, Haniel."

The hooded one kindly caressed Haniel's face with a mild and sweet touch, and vanished out.

                              - "You may stay with your beloved angels and inspire them, but know you will be not anymore an angel or even a spirit. You are now so higher, one of our dearest. May they know you as Haniel the Serene, my Light Adept!"

The best healers, the Angels of Law, were trying to help the extremely weakened and hexed Aida, but it was so hard. Her will was the only thing keeping her alive... until Haniel appeared in front of them, wrapped in holy light, with the most shining wings, robe and beauty ever seen in Heavens or Earth.

The wounded Archoness fought against the Gattkarr's curse as she could and barely tried to kneel before Haniel, but the brightful one rushed and kindly hugged her instead. And Aida got completely restored and rid of the spell, and so every other harmed angel around. Then, Haniel stared at herself. She seemed no more strong and hard as a fighter but soft, sweet and charming as a goddess.

                              - "A mighty gift from the Highest has arrived for us. The best mirror to reflect us, the brightest light to guide us, the boldest one to inspire us. Glory be upon you forever, Haniel the Serene!"

... Damn, that epic fail will not ever repeat! Now he was bestowed with the ghostly essence of the consumed Matron. No need to sneak past the gate of Heavens like a rat, no more tricks, no more fallen angels... he felt powerful enough to reap the mighty Treasure of Galzra and trample over his enemies using the uncanny magic of its ageless relics!

Would the buffed Gattkarr succeed at the wealthiest raid ever? Or will he join the countless list of greedy fools slain by the six-headed Guardian?
