Just got an update on my nexus, and mail from kabam. WD crests r available lvl 6 lakes and up, but u have to send out your GD to get them. Only problem with that is whenever my GD gets a scratch it takes an hour to heal! Is this the happening to everyone or just me? I mean what is the point of having a health meter if GD has to heal after every time u use it?

      • #4
Same here with damage of GD. I think it is not normal. On web version you can attack multiple times before your GD must recover.

        • #5
I get 2 attacks in before my Great Dragon is down for 20 minutes. I think kabam is purposely making it frustrating for players to obtain the crests in hope that they will buy them.

I love this game but it feels like it's all about the money with game, and players who can't afford to puchase rubies are being left behind. At least on the pc version we had a fightong chance.

sorry for the rant, just very frustrated with the mobie version

          • #6
indeed you have too send your GD with your troops and try too attack the highest lakes with much conscrips and ats for the drop...for preventing your GD gets hit much research dragon lore+arial combat and upgrade GD 19/20 for the best results

            • #7
Use 2 waves of attacks one to wipe out the majority of troops and then a second one of ssd and the great dragon the ssd will take the hits while the gd is there but not getting hurt

              • #8
How can you use two waves of attacks? If you send one wave, the attack is over in like 1 second. So are you saying that you send a small amount of troops and let them all get killed and then send your SSDs and great dragon a minute later?

                  See my question below.

I suppose it's just his theory, which is unproven.

The rate you can gain the water crest depend on just 1 variable, great dragon availability. Meaning how often your GD is not in a very injured state.

For now, most people believe that each time you attack with your GD, no matter how many the enemies your GD face, your GD will always lose a fixed percentage of health, just like in original DoA.

I concur with this, i've tested it many time about this fixed percentage loss of health.

So there is no way to make your GD unhurt in any kind of attack, both in DoA HoTD or vanilla DoA (PC version).

Unless you're buying rubies for speed up items, you are limited to just 2 strikes with your great dragon every 30 minute with Lv 9 Medicine, Lv 9 Aerial Combat and Lv 9 Dragon Lore. And i believe it will be the same with all 3 techs at Lv 10.

As for the crest itself, it's a chance based, so you won't always get it, and higher lv lake doesn't guarantee more crest.

This is just my theory, the closer the number of troops to its maximum number in the lake, the higher the chance you will get crest. So this means attacking a lake that already attacked seconds or few minutes before will reduce the chance you will get crest. And i also belive GD health affect the chance, i often got x5 crest from lake lv 6 if my GD is at maximum health, but i always got 0 crest from lake lv 10 when my GD healing time is 25-29 minute.

So far the best method is send spies to eliminate stench, then immediately follow with the main attack force + GD. Each lake that you attack must regenerate all its troops before you attack again, attacking a lake that is already attacked seconds or few minute before will mostly give 0 crest. Seems it's best to attack 2 different lake every 30 minute.

Which troops that is ideal to do this is debatable, but i consider SSD + BD with GD is the best, the attack buff from GD is useful for them (lv 19 GD give 95% atk bonus only to SSD and BD, that means double attack bonus), not to mention they're the fastest troops, GD doesn't increase marching time, so only BD that will slow your SSD. As for the presence of ranged troop extend the battlefield, it's just a theory that is still unproven, it's only proven in original DoA, not in this mobile version. But the GD bonus attack and GD doesn't increase march time is a proven fact.

In the end the crest is RNG based, but it's possible to get 100 crest in 1-3 day(s).

The following info is for farming WILDS (ie Lakes for crests) with a 0 loss of troops.

*IMPORTANT: you MUST send the spies first in "spy" mode... THEN IMMEDIATELY after send SSD.

You DO NOT send your Great Dragon or Transports if solely farming.

HOWEVER - if you are trying for WD Crests or Armour - you MUST send your dragon with the SSD.

                      WILD Lvl 1 - 20 ssd
                      Lvl2 - 60 spies, 40 ssd
                      Lvl 3 - 120 spies, 120 ssd
                      Lvl 4 - 240 spies, 400 ssd
                      Lvl 5 - 600 spies, 1000 ssd
                      Lvl 6 & 7 - 1200 spies, 2000 ssd
                      Lvl 8 - 2400 spies, 4500 ssd
                      Lvl 9 - 6k spies, 12k ssd
                      Lvl 10 - 12k spies, 20k ssd

*these numbers DO NOT work on ANTHRO Camps...they are for WILDS ONLY.

Well said, Thalandis, and GinaHam. My aerial combat is only level 6, Dragon Lore is level 9, and my GD heal time for 1 attack is a little over 9 minutes, thus giving me the ability to use my GD two attacks

                        • #13
Where can I see, how many WD Crests I have gained yet?

                          • #14
As i suspected, it seems Dragon lore is the only important research, i'm not sure though.

Click your water island, there's a button obtain egg, you can see how many water crest you have there.

I fear, here I have a small problem. I can see only half of the button, like if my display settings ist perhaps 100pixels too small or if scroll bars are missing.
                              Has anybody else this problem?
And where exactly is the number of water crests indicated? below the button? or visible by pressing it?
